Oprah, Dave. Dave, Oprah.

The cold war between television titans Oprah Winfrey and David Letterman has thawed to the point where Winfrey has accepted Letterman's invitation to appear on the "Late Show" on Dec. 1.

Why is this even an issue?

I remember back in the old days at NBC when Dave used to be funny and I watched his show religiously every night, Oprah was on at least once. I think she didn't like being asked about her personal life though. She seemed to resent having to talk about her Steadman. (Is that spelled right?) Are they still together?

So they're going to shoot guests? I guess it would be good for ratings for a few episodes but then they'd have a hard time getting guests on. IMHO, of course.

I have to admit a minor interest in it. Remembering the jokes from the 90s from Letterman about Dr. Phil and Oprah being married, the running joke that Oprah would not come on the show, etc., it is mildly amusing she's finally going to do the show.

Dave won't marry the mother of his child...and Oprah won't marry Steadman.

They have a lot in common to talk about.

Sorry, but the only things worth watching on Letterman are the babes on "Will It Float?"

(IMHO)

Apparently, Dave's career was gravely harmed when he kiddingly introduced Oprah Winfrey to Uma Thurman at the academy awards, "Oprah, Uma... Uma, Oprah." The same people who love irreverence and can't imagine why Christians are offended by works such as "P*ss Chr*st" just about black-listed Letterman for that.

If I'd had either of those graphics I certainly would have used them. You have no idea how many people actually DO care about this stuff. I worry about this country.

Dave was giving away 'Big Ass Hams' to his audience long before Okrah started giving away her 'Favorite Things'.

I remember when Oprah was just becoming popular and she went on Dave's show and she was gushing all over him about wanting to be his friend, and he said to her "Not gonna happen".

So she has been on his show before once at least if not more. Streisand and Carson these two are not. They just don't make celebrity hatefests like they used to.
