fmwap writes "There have been several postings over at Xbox-scene complaining of crashing Xbox's on new games, with default settings on single player. Crashes on Xbox Live and on startup have been reported too, and Project Gotham Racing 3 crashes before finishing the first lap. Screenshots and Video are available showing the crash."

I don't know. Apparently it's a power supply issue (
stranger from cyberspace):
kay... we got two xbox's this morning.. lined up really early.. and through trial and error, I can tell you what this is. Basically, its your power bar.
We connect my friends Xbox completely and had this problem right away, tried everything we could to get it working. We opened up and connected my other friends Xbox to the existing cords, had the same problem, and freaked cause we thought we had 2 faulty Xbox's already. We took out the power bar and cords from the 2nd Xbox 360 and they're QUITE different. The plugs are slightly different, different shade of grey and everything. After hooking this up, BOTH Xbox's worked perfectly fine....
So at least, we've narrowed down the problem to the Power Bar.. the solution according to Support.. is yes... send it in, and wait a week for your replacement... sad.gif We're trying to pray we can get an exchange in so we don't have to wait a week, but not sure on how or when they'll get more here.... Best of luck.. we need it too apparently...

Even if it is
just a problem with a faulty power brick, it is still going to be a veritable sh!tstorm of bad publicity.
Surely SONY is snickering in their Sake.

Dealing with such challenges is part of the Microsoft allure.

So folks will remember who makes it. :)
I went to Circuit City yesterday AM.
Walking up to the door I thought they had been taken over by the homeless.
Sleeping bags, air matresses out front(upscale homeless), MikeyD trash, etc.
Then I realized what was happening.
Takes all kinds.

I think Barnum's figure was extremely conservative, even for his day.

People that are rushing out to buy the XBox are silly. Never buy a product until all the bugs have been worked out.

And besides, it takes a couple of years for the software development to utilize all of the new attributes.
