It is so interesting to think of ordinary people moving through their everyday lives dealing with their obstacles but thinking very intriguing life and death thoughts. Devising ways to survive the worst. Sometimes I think we'll be a Mad Max movie.

Don't know where Paul is and why there was no ping, so I'll take emergency powers at the moment.

Paul once gave me the list as a backup, in case he couldn't. I have no idea where he is, so I just figured I jump in and do it.

Very cool :) Fusion is used in mine although only for large vehicles. Mechs and tanks and APCs and other small vehicles use air-independant turbine systems.
I know fusion units are used in vehicles as small as Hummers and even the Chenoweth Army dune buggy IIRC. There are also Project motorcycles too but they are electric and can be recharged from any electrical source such as a gas generator, fusion vehicle or a stand alone fusion plant. Usually they have a 300 mile range and have regenerative brakes. One of our PC characters was fleeing a group called "The Krell" who pushed his motorcycle along at times and rode it downhill so he can preserve the charge in the batteries to when he really needs it such as to get away or when he gets into range of friendly forces. Would be kind of cool to use a hybrid gas turbine system in a motorcycle too. One advantage of a gas turbine is they can run on any hyrdocarbon fuel. In 1963, there was a Chrysler gas turbine car that was tried out and you can run it on anything, gasoline, diesel, kerosine, aviation gas, and whatnot.

Heh, it would be pretty cool, Beavis. B-) Yeah for some reason, I have a fascination with post apocalyptic war stories that knock civilization back, doubly so with atomic war stories. I don't know why, I just think that genre of fiction is kind of cool. I did hear that it was like a Cold War version of Cowboys and Indians to give the chance for good guys to come along and save the people from whatever is hurting them, bandits, a disease, a power crisis and whatnot. The Morrow Project focuses on that, sometimes we have "kill the bad guys" but there are other missions to where we might need to aid a town with an illness and so on. I guess when I was 17 or 18, tooling around in a Mad Max world would have been the ultimate adventure but as I've gotten older (I'll be 40 next year), I came to appreciate the things an intact civilization provides although thete are times a small shadow of my 18 year old self does come out. B-) If The Morrow Project was real though and I had a chance to join it, if I didn't have my mom and 8 cats, I'd join in a heartbeat but I'd probably be more of a use to a science, communications or engineering team.

Well, I tried to see the Johnny Cash movie tonight, but the theater was sold out. So, now, I'm back home.
Looks like things are moving a LOT slower, than last night. I will be here awhile, checking in between writing.

Things are real slow tonight...I don't know, for some reason, Paul never pinged anyone, so I decided to do it but I guess it's too late.

I might be hear for a little while, right now, I'm working on a webiste and I'm battling a cold, I feel like I'm on fire and to sleep would be kind of tough. I feel like "The Human Torch" from the 1967 version of "The Fantastic Four." B-)
I might do a little research for my game. I got the 200+ years later post apocalyptic version of Western PA shaping up, I'm learning that we have three refineries in the general region, one in Bradford, PA, one in Warren, PA and one in Newell in West Virginia on thr Ohio River, they would be use for trade and such to keep the "Gypsy Truckers" and other traders moving. Basically, America in my game is very Balkanized 200 years from now (with many areas of "No Man's Land") and we have regressed to an 1800 to 1950 technology level (vehicles are not uncommon but nowhere like it is now, most places use horse drawn vehicles and there are steam trains in some areas but vacuum tube type and crystal radios are fairly common) with hints of high tech (1970 onward) in very small areas. The "Gypsy Truckers" is like a more modern version of "The Hansa" that were the main traders of Dark Age Europe. Other such guildlike groups are "The Gassers" that run the refineries and/or make alcohol into fuel. Europe is way off the list right now, but I'm thinking of making it an Islamic superstate with the Spanish trying to hold them back, I have to see how things gel out for my game.
You also have "high end" states like the Kentucky Free State where they maintain a 1940's tech level with their own versions of the M1 tank and M2 Bradley but they lack the high tech aiming equipment we have today and the M1 tank has a diesel engine like the M48/60 did. They also have an Air Force of P-47 fighters. Basically, the Kentucky Free State (KFS) is a country that was founded by rivals of the Project and they have reintroduced slavery although it isn't race based but most of the slaves became that way due to debt, being punished for crimes, captured in battles, questioning the leaders, etc. the KFS is one of the "stock" enemies in the literature of the Project. I'm settign my campaign in Western PA and Eastern Ohio for now, one of the most important advice of writing is "use the area you are familiar with the most" and I've been around the area plus I know people and seen/read about the others I'm using in the game.
BTW, this may sound weird but one night I had a dream where I was in "The Morrow Project," in the world of my game and I had a mission to run a preacher/doctor to a village that is stricken by sickness so I think I might use it as a plot device. B-)

Ugh, hate that when it happens. That reminds me, hopefully I'll be out of my economic funk enough that if I have a good tax return, I might buy a new laptop. I have an old Thinkpad but the LCD died on it and I have to use a regular monitor now. B-( I'm back to my desktop Gateway.
