Clooney is a Box Office Hit [loses it over criticism!]

ASTONISHED onlookers told last night how they saw movie megastar George Clooney brawling in the gutter with a film producer.

The raging actor — famed for his super-smooth image — was said to have flipped after movie boss Simon Franks criticised his acting in his latest flick.

The pair began grappling as they waited in an alley for a car to pick them up from a party following the premiere of the film Good Night And Good Luck in London’s Soho.

One witness said: “It wasn’t knockabout fun, it was the real deal. George was livid and trying to knock the living daylights out of the other guy.”

The onlooker added: “It was about 2.15am and very dark, but I could make out George in a white shirt.

“The fight lasted about 30 seconds to a minute before security guards broke it up. Then George tucked his shirt in and smoothed down his hair — as if he had suddenly switched to film-star mode.”

Clooney, 44, had been partying at posh bar Meze following his film’s Leicester Square premiere.

He spent the night cosying up to on-off girlfriend Lisa Snowdon, 31, who looked stunning in a low-cut black dress.

A witness said the star had accused Mr Franks — executive producer of Good Night And Good Luck — of doing a poor job of distributing the movie.

Mr Franks, 34, founder of film distribution firm Redbus, then said the actor was poor in the flick, the witness added.

After the bust-up, Clooney flew straight home to America. Mr Franks was last night also on a flight to Los Angeles and was unavailable for comment.

Clooney’s spokesman Stan Rosenfield later admitted the star got into a row, but claimed he only became involved after a partygoer insulted a woman.

He said: “It had everything to do with someone being unkind to a woman. George told the person to knock it off.”

Rosenfield said Clooney told him: “I won’t stand by while someone is being insulted and maligned. No person I know would.”

Despite his spokeman's smokescreens, I recall a similar episode a while back when his "Solaris" came out, calling some critic a real jerk or something.

Apparently, he can dish it out but can't take it.

You can tell by the expression on his face in the photos that he has passed from mildly buzzed to stupid, sloppy drunk. He doesn't want to take pain pills for his spine problems because of a family history of pill addiction, but he apparently thinks being a belligerent drunk is perfectly fine...

"It was about 2.15am and very dark, but I could make out George in a white shirt."

Now is it right to say this? Shouldn't it be
"a shirt of caucasian descent" or "a shirt not
of color"?

Yes, I think:
"He spent the night cosying up to on-off girlfriend Lisa Snowdon, 31, who looked stunning in a low-cut black dress."

translates to:
she's "on" when he needs a photo-op, and "off" as soon as the flashbulbs are done popping.

I heard that he tried sneaking out of the establishment to avoid photographers. He went out the back door, and there they were. He was screaming obscenities at the bouncer, who just left him out there in the alley.

Sooo, which version is true?

"Clooney is a Box Office Twit"

And not aging very well, I might add. He always flies off the handle when anyone dares to criticize him.

Clooney is evidently also a grad of the Sean Penn School Of, *ahem*, Pacifism and Non-Violence.

Nice backside on his booty call girlfriend though. :)
