The new book Do As I Say (Not As I Do) by Peter Schweitzer makes claims about Al Franken's hiring practices made me wonder about Air America's. Does anyone know the diversity of Air America's Board of Directors and their senior management? That would include gender, racial, ethnic and age balance. They do have some African American on air talent but I haven't the slightest idea about the networks management balance especially the senior management. Inquiring minds want to know.

look at their on air talent and you get an image of the rest of their staffing... all white all the time... the token minority is Randi Rhodes and that is only because she is a bitter female.

Not only that, but I remember when the "network" first came on in New York, that it had replaced programming aimed at Black audiences....anyone else remember that?

No, they have a better on-air diversity than just Randi Rhodes. On the Real is hosted by two African American hosts and Kyle Jason is African American. One of the hosts on Morning Sedition is an African American . They have female hosts for Mother Jones Radio, The Laura Flanders Show, Rachel Maddow Show;, Minority Report (1 female host of the 2 hosts), and Eco Talk. At least that's what the pictures show at their website. That's why I didn't ask about the on-air talent.

I think one of the stations out here in Los Angeles was also a minority targeted station before they went on the air. That was the one that had to pull them off the air and sue them to try to get their money. I think that lawsuit is still going on.

Can't say for sure, but based on what i remember
of a photo i saw, and a special that was about
Fart America, their entire staff, (on and oof air)
is less than 30 people, and all of them are white.

I heard they are completely unbalanced. But that had nothing to do with ethnicity; it was more to do with mental state, I believe.
