Yes. I am not only lonely. Grandfather passed away, grandmother was in hospital. And all the effects from that.

My condolences. Mt prayers are with you. I've been there too.

Absolutely not...i totally agree with you. I was a virgin until I married my husband at 26. Since his death, I have not dated at all and would be scared to let someone touch me unless we were married. Some may think it is old fashion, but as a Christian woman, I see God's wisdom in this.

I am a virgin here. But I would never do anything like casual sex. It just does not seem right. So I am more than willing to wait for marraige.

AK is STILL Down. I have gotten a couple of neat Audio items of late, including a DAT deck, for about $50 altogether, that I took a chance on. I finger-cleaned the head drum(DAT decks use spinning heads like VCR'S), and it is recording, and playing well, at this moment.(for so long I have wanted a DAT...... Now, It looks like I got one!) I wanted to let the gang know of that Ebay find, as well as A Realistic SCR-4500 cassette/receiver, the BIG one, with a 60w/ch. amp, and such. I got that for about 50 too, including ship. Another 'bay find.

But alas, the AK site is nowhere to be found.....:(

While I was working as a pizza delivery boy, an order came in that, well, was a little hard to understand. He ordered chicken wings and the manager thought he said chicken pizza (specialty, costs a lot). So I delivered to these guys way out on a farm, and the only one who spoke a little English was barely understandable. Messed up order...

After much confusion, the guy said that I should drive him and his friend up to another house up the road where a guy would have enough to pay for the whole thing. Against my better judgement, I agreed, and they climbed and I drove them down the street (my Mom hit the ceiling when I told her).

I got paid for the pizza, and lectured in a broken language about "remembering next time." And I got no tip. But at least I got home safe and sound.

I agree with RCA2000's advice, get a hobby for now and take it slow on the dating side, I know myself, I am into ham radio and role playing games to name a few. Also, I'm trying to dig myself out of a financial funk so I have to work on priorities although if there is an opportunity there, I would go for it. My buddy on the other hand, has always rushed it and gotten hurt. Right now, he met a grl form Canada and he brought her down to shack up with him. Bad move IMHO. I've said it many times, like with my career, with giels, I'm asking God to take the lead and guide me.

Writer and sci-fi geek here. Just hard to find a club or place with similar interests. Especially the writing part (I am at 120 pages out of a planned 400).

I shouldnt be saying this, but it is hard to let god guide me. I will not be young forever and there are times where I feel maybe I am not meant to meet a girl.

Welcome Nowhereman. Whoever that girl is in that painting, she is quite a beauty :)

I have an interest with art from the Victorian and Edwardian eras, espeically from the periodicals of that time. That pic is from the January 15th, 1911 Ladies Home Journal and is done by one of my favorite artists, M.E. (somttimes Emma) Musselman who was a fashion illustrator from that time. I've seen other works by her such as music sheet covers and so on. I keep looking for details about her but I come up empty. All I know she was born in 1880, and I think, in Lancaster, PA, not sure on that one. I also like Charles Dana Gibson, Howard Chandler Christy, and other from that time. There is another, Eda Soest Doench, who was a fashion illustrator from that time as well, she is somewhat collectible now. I am online friends with a distant relative of hers, we like to play RPG games.

Come to think of it, I like a lot of magazines from that time, even the family and women mags had stories and stuff in there for everyone to enjoy, you can read Kipling, L. Frank Baum and so on plus look at featured house plans, now today is is all about sex. B-(

Yeah, but the guy who could speak English didn't look too menacing; he was middle aged, short, and bald with a moustache.

Keep in mind that me and Nowhere are a LOT older than you, and we sometimes feel that way too.. and we are REALLY starting to run out of time!!

But to keep it from dragging us down, we find other things to occupy our time. Like that DAT deck I spoke of, or a Vintage CD player(1985) that I got up and goin' for the "heck of it", and A Dvd-combo, that I fixed, to replace my '99 model DVD(which I got new), which is sk--k--k--i--i--pppii--innnn--g--, badly!!! Along with writing, and other things.

I seem to be out of touch with the world anymore. ON another thread this week, I was chastened, for saying that to sleep around and such, on the first, or after several dates, is wrong, and that if someone is a Christian, they should not do this at all. For this belief I was called a goody-goody, and holier than thou. I was misquoted in saying that if someone did something like that and THEN changed, that they were tarred for life. I NEVER said that, or felt that way. I am all for people changing, and becoming decent, moral citizens. I do feel that if someone is doing that stuff NOW, that they are doing wrong,(NOT what they may had done years ago, before they changed and "wised up") and that I desire a woman that does not sleep around, and has good morals. I would not ,however hold that against a woman, who had done that previously, but changed her ways, and become a good, moral person. We all make mistakes.

Is that a wrong view to hold?

No, you're right on the beam. It's no sweat, man. BTW, Jesus did say, "he without sin, cast the first stone" as the crowd was going to stone the prostitute, the crowd understood and broke up and Jeaus said to her, "go and sin no more." Jesus did that and taught that so yes, you are correct. I can understand how some people do get their wires crossed, in this medium it is easy to do so at least there is room for clarification in a rebuttal. If they still don't "get it," it's just time to move on. There is nothing wrong with you or me, I support the same views myself too.

Sometimes these debates, it is like where a Warner Brothers cartoon character where he gets a lump, pushes it in, then it pops out somewhere else, it is a never ending battle.

Hey man you should let God guide you, if its meant to be it will happen; its it not it won't. Don't let a relationship or lack of one rule your life. Do what you enjoy and let the chips fall where they may. I beat myself up throughout my 20's and early 30's because I wanted a wife and family. Finally got smart and just went on my way. Been much happier the last 10 years and am doing what I enjoy.

Maybe try just being yourself and friends first. That is how a lot of good relationships start, then after the initial "in love" feeling is gone, the friendship sustains the relationship. Nothing scares a woman away more than the feeling that someone is desperate to hook up, or at least that has made me run from several guys in my younger days.

Usually 11 AM on SAturday's and Sundays, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't so it is pot luck at times. Well I hate to do it, but I got to bow out and go to bed, but since you want to know really quick I had to reply. The thing I hate about them is thei scheduleis like rubber, there is no consistancy.

Hooray!

I wasn't here last week, but I heard the thread was a disappointment. Only about 300 posts, and it fizzled out.
