I hate spanish too, and living in Southern California, it would be helpful. I took several years of it in school, but as a disadvantage, just because my maiden name is Medina, they assumed I knew the language, even though I only knew a few words and so they put me in the advanced class because the beginning class was full. It was downhill from there. Never got the foundation, was just expected to know it.

too funny...would you believe that my sister is a high school teacher and was REQUIRED to take an ebonics class so that she could communicate with the students. She got in trouble when she suggested that they teach the kids english instead
