The five-year study set out to find scientific proof for the Navajos belief that the substance, which contains the hallucinogen mescaline, is not hazardous to their health even when used frequently. I'm against making peyote or magic mushrooms or marijuana illegal (the absurdity of making something that grows naturally comes to mind).
However, I also question the results of any study that sets out to prove a point and then, surprise, reaches the desired conclusion.

I can believe this. I did LSD a few times in college back in the '60s, and as soon as I stopped everything went back to norbal.
