CINCINNATI (AP) - The Cincinnati Bengals will reassess their security measures after a fan ran onto the field Sunday and disrupted a potential game-tying drive by the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers, trailing 21-14, reached the Bengals 28 with 23 seconds left. Brett Favre took the ensuing snap, but whistles quickly blew after the fan came onto the field. The unidentified man took the football out of Favre's hand and ran about 50 yards before being tackled by security guards and removed from the field.

A stadium full of Bengals fans is like a bar full of 21 year olds. They are new at this, and don't always know how to act. >:)

Find him and sign him.
Seems to me they're catching on pretty quickly though.
I saw that famous Mike Curtis sideline clothesline hit! WOW! The guy was tearing down the sideline, police in pursuit, and Curtis (#32, Colt middle linebacker) stepped up from the bench and NAILED him in the throat with a roundhouse forearm!
BOOM!!
The guy's head stopped right there, his legs and body flew out to the horizontal, and he landed on his back out cold.
I don't know if the Packers would have won without the fan interference but I'm a Bengals fan and am glad that they won.
OTOH, I hope the fan get a severe fine, hard community service, or a couple of weeks in the city jail.
As as Packer fan I would like to think that the fan cost the Packers the game by breaking their rythym in those last few moments, but I am a realist.
Update security? yes, but announce the fine for going on the field to be $30,000 and it may keep these idiots (at least the idiots looking for face time) from going on the field.
It would be my bet that he got the section he was in to pony up the money it would take to pay the fine. A lot easier to put up $100 for a buddy pulling this off than being asked to drop $1000.

"That did slow it down and give us a chance to huddle, and we kind of came together as a defense," linebacker Brian Simmons said. "But you don't want to see that because somebody could get hurt."
Favre was sacked on the next play, and was under heavy pressure as he threw his last pass from beyond the line of scrimmage, an illegal completion that came up short, anyway.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis acknowledged that the security delay changed the momentum.
If I read correctly, the Packers had just gotten a huge pass interference penalty and the Bengal D was in disarray. I'm suprised no penalty was called. I suspect in Cleveland there would have been an unsportsmanlike conduct call, giving the Packers 15 more and stopping the clock. We're "lucky" that way. :P

After 5 picks I was thinking that No. 6 was right around the corner...:)
Didn't they used to call unsportmanlike conduct on teams for the actions of their fans?
They need to tell the players to beat his a$$
Didn't they used to call unsportmanlike conduct on teams for the actions of their fans?I don't know about the NFL, but there have been several cases where major league baseball games were actually forfeited because of fan misconduct.

Was this the perp?
They need to tell the players to beat his a$$Note the title. Colts LB Mike Curtis did precisely that in a similar incident in 1971.

I was just thinking about that hit the other day. The guy wasn't really "tearing" down the sideline. IIRC, he had a longish coat on, and was kinda galumphing.... But he did go down real quick.
Curtis was always sort of an "anti social personality." He was one of the only NFL stars not to go on strike (whatever year that was) because he hated unions.
Packers' season is offically over :(
I honestly thought it was a commercial when I first sawe it with no sound in the sports bar.
Years ago a seen a picture of that that guy being chased By Curtis in a magazine. The guys name was Albert Troiano and was taken out on a streacher. Does anyone have a picture or a clip. Ive searched and have come up empty.
