Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah, we have Bill Payer with our Credit Union. Most of our bills are not auto-pay, just because I haven't set it up that way, but when I get a bill for utilities or a credit card that is not associated with the credit union, I log on, set the 'Bill Pay' date for a few days before it is due, then I don't have to try to remember to pay it, or have to write the check early to make sure it gets paid on time. It's a great service!

I'm about to run out of plot at 48K. Wow, You've gotten almost to the end! I'm sure you can do an 'Epilogue' or something that can use up at least 2K words!

Let me do a few revisions first. I need to work on characterization, beef up the backstory, etc. But I'm really happy with the bones of the plot. who knows I might publish it on LuLu (print-on-demand self-publishing) someday.
But this exercise was about setting a goal, committing, and executing. I got a lot out of it.
To: Lil'freeper
congrats! Barely over the half way point myself :( Just got was raking the yard. Now that I am out of daylight it is time to get back to writing.

Got 2700 in at the write-in. We're going to see Harry Potter in a bit so not sure if I'll get more in tonight.

Having done another coat (I found a tiny roller, and it works better than brushes) I'm going to suspend the espresso. If I do any more tonight, I'll sand and prime the footboard and then put a push on the espresso on both ends tomorrow.

Check this out...
Costco I was searching for something at Costco.com... and I was reading along the top menu... Lets see... "jewely, apparel, occasions and floral, sports and recreation, urns and caskets, wine and food..."
What what what? ~Urns and Caskets"? From Costco?
I had no idea!

Huh. What's most disturbing is the options of "Casket-Overnight" or "Casket-Standard".
Hi! I'd like to buy a casket, but it's just for tonight.
Scary.

Evening Hair - thanks, it's kinda neat, makes you wonder where the original owner got her. We're glad we have her, Gypsygirl's a great dog.

Thanks :)
That's all for tonight. I've made a mess in my bathroom (paint, brushes, tiny rollers etc.) I want to do something else for a while. Progress so far:

Note the primed footboard on the floor.
I think the headboard will be done in one more coat applied with the roller.
