Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I have no idea, since I got home 11-ish last night. I would have expected her to be abed anyway.
I can see we may have a few scheduling issues to work out... I get home early, but my time isn't free; she gets home late but she's all done of an evening.

I'm read and willing to surrender and get the heck out of here, but it isn't going to happen. :-(

"Several people in the novel have trouble communicating, in one way or another."
A lot of people have that problem in my story but that has more to do with radio interference from the impending supernova.

Ha! I find that vaguely amusing.
I believe in characters communicating the heck out of each other. At least in NaNo. Dialogue is so much easier for me to write than action.
Rose maybe you should give them all cell phones, nobody I know who has a cell phone has trouble saying anything they want.

I think she means for her characters to have issues in that department.
The other day I had fun browsing through the characters 'up for grabs' on the NaNoWriMo forums. Some interesting ideas for people that can spice up a story. Many were just plane 'wrong' but some might be of use. Some appealing and interesting characters is just what I need to make my plot come to life.

nobody I know who has a cell phone has trouble saying anything they want. Aaaaaaah! Too true! *shudder*
To: Lil'freeper
Heck, I could "win" NaNoWriMo just by writing down all the private conversations I overhear on the bus, walking to class, in the halls, in the grocery store...

Heck, you could probably get that *published*!
My uber-peeve is Nextel. You can hear both sides of an annoying personal conversation. Ack.

Aaaaggghhhhh! Diversity Training Workshop!
On the other hand, the Coot Corps is giving the HR Lady a run for her money....
...it ended up (before lunch) as "the only reason we're at this workshop is that the company wants to CYA." Hehehehe....bitch session followed.

Thanks! I'll check 'em out.
I need to work on a "landscaping plan." Figured I'd start with the front walk area.

nobody I know who has a cell phone has trouble saying anything they want. Personally, I'm looking for Verizon to offer a KMA plan. You get free minutes every time you use the call to tell someone "KMA."
