Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Nah, I had a feeling it would sound like a sorta stupid question... I'm not a city girl but I've never been closer to a dead deer than passing one on the side of the road and they never have rudolph-noses.

No, no trick. Unless you really had killed Rudolph in which case I was going to ask where the other eight corpses were. Or nine if you shot the big red home invader guy who was riding with them.

how ninja llamas would behave
*snrk* Llamas are actually *extremely* territorial, especially the males. In a turf fight between males, they only go after two targets. The ears.... and the testicles. Even with the ... narrow focus... they have good-sized canines and can kill each other from bloodloss. (exsanguination is *such* a fun word!)

One of my favorite St. Nick stories is "A Cajun Night Before Christmas". I had seen it over 25 years ago in a bookstore in Tampa when SirKit and I were there over a weekend. I thought it was cute, but didn't buy it. When the kids came along, I remembered it, but that was pre-Internet, so I didn't know how to find it; it wasn't in any bookstores when I remembered to look.
A few years ago, I was in MS for my annual Girl Cousin Reunion, and my older sister and I were in a little book store in Ocean Springs and there it was. I finally got it, and just love reading it.
St. Nick knows he can't get his reindeer down into the swamps, so he delivers gifts to all the good little Cajun boys and girls in a pirogue pulled by eight alligators!

Did one have a light-up snout? or did he get extra speed from them chasing Rudolph all around the bayou?
To: g'nad
Come on, that's LOVELY! (Quoting Arthur Dent sipping a cup of tea.)
Congrats on the deer. Mmmmmm I was just remembering that deer meat we brought home with us from ShootMoot.
Mmmmm....

Heh.
I feel the same way about the septic. I dread selling this house and having it inspected. It seems ok to me, but I can just see an expert coming in and saying "You gotta be kiddin'".

You had it pumped right? Shouldn't be a problem.
To: Empress
Well I was trying to figure out how ninja acted and adapt it to llamas. If llamas are to spy like ninja, I need a way for them to communicate with the dumb schmuck they took up with.
So far, these llama (3 right now) are cooperating with each other.

What years were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on TV? I'm hoping one of my characters fits the right age range to have watched them.

Right. Then when we checked out the lines we found they main line had completely disintegrated. We replaced that and patched it into the leach lines.
Um...without a permit, so to speak.

Thanks. I never watched 'em. Would a 14 year old boy have been a fan? Maybe he could be watching them with his 10 year old sister...
To: Corin Stormhands
I am mildly insulted that you would ping me on that ;-P
