Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Probably a good plan.
Especially if my dad should ever find out where I hang out online.

Heh... I just went out and pulled our big dog crate in from the back yard junk hiding place, and hosed it off and cleaned it up to bring in. It occured to me that I might want a small kitty sanctuary ready in case the introduction of these two kittens to the cat and the two dogs is more chaos than we want all at once.
But it is ~pouring~ out, and I'm out in the yard with a brush and a hose tryin' to get the dirt and cobwebs out of this old dog crate, which doesn't really look that much better now. I'm soaked :~D

Cat sanctuary is a good idea. I recommend a bathroom, or whatever room you're keeping the litter box in.
To: Lil'freeper
We also have the back bedroom, our normal litterbox is in my bathroom and we could close them off, but I think the dog crate might work nicely too. I brought it in.... so we've got options :~D

Oliver's sanctuary is under the dresser in my closet - which is an amazing thing considering how big he is and how small the space is. When we installed the ceiling fan in the bedroom, he thought it was a giant spider and hid under the dresser for days. Knucklehead.

Got the crate set up. Kitty number 8 went in to see what his bed is doing in this box.... Hey - wait a minute, this seems kinda cool in here...

"No wait a minute! I didn't know the door closed on this thing! It's a trap! let me out!"
He prefers to be ~on~ the crate.

It's a pretty rough lookin' crate... I got it free as a pretty rough lookin' hand-me-down, I imprisoned Gidget in it at night when she was a chewin' pup, and it's spent the last five years outside in the rain.... but it'll work for a day or two. There's room for a little litterbox in the back.

So, I get to be a murderous woman eh? What is my pleasure, poisoned cheese sandwich? Sabotaged toaster? Ill-tempered badgers? No, no ... the sabotaged toaster is mine.

Well I'm back from the promotion ceremony. My favorite Captain is now my favorite Major. What would be the most appropriate Hobbit Hole product we could send as congratulations?

I got Miss Cat one of those "slumber balls" that Cartman is sitting on. She doesn't like it so I'm using it as a seat cushion.
To: Overtaxed
He likes it now that it's really mashed down, when it was new, it was kinda hard to cuddle into.

Slow afternoon around here.
I decided not to hit the write in. It would kill an hour of write time and prevent me from calling my brother to consult on technology. Mainly though i have been coughing and hacking a bit today and would be poor writing company.
To: TalonDJ
Well I guess you don't want to infect anyone!
I haven't written one word yet today, I think I will try reading for just a while and then get started. I'd really like to be 1 or 2k ahead going into next week.
