New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

Let us know how it goes.... Jen's eye phobia notwithstanding.
"And then the vet stuck a loooooooooong thin needle into the corner of his eye..."
Ack! You want me to go 2J on you? Cuz I might! My fears are warranted and caused by traumatic childhood experiences, thye're not irrational at all!
Took me a while to get Puyallup down too... the first part sounds like 'pew' and the end rhymes with 'gallop'. Don't ask me to try Suquamish, Quileute, or Quinault, though.
Makes Arizona's indian names seem easy... Hohokam, Yavapai, Tohono O'odham, Hualapai, Havasupai...
warrant
n. 2: Justification for an action or a belief; grounds:
Justification
n 1: something (such as a fact or circumstance) that shows an action to be reasonable or necessary;
I will not even bother going after 'rational'
My phobia is justified... circumstances like having your eye dilated, poked at, examined, bluelighted and such a dozen times by the age of ten counts as circumstances which make it reasonable for me to avoid eye trauma at all events.
Really wish I didn't have this problem, though, I'd like to wear contacts but I can't bear the thought of something *in* my eye like that.
Rose took pictures though, so there's that.
Ten minutes? So did it not go well? Or... well, tell!
I think the next interviewee was waiting in the lobby when I walked out, so it's possible they may have scheduled interviews every 15 or 20 minutes. I should know by Monday or Tuesday, 'cause that's when they'll have made their decision.
Okay, I'm sorry, but I've cancelled your date for the funeral. However, I've given you a much more central role in the plot.
The son that knows all the true details about the family dark secret (that the grandmother is hiding), has been locked away in rehab in California. He's not ~supposed~ to come to the funeral.
You're going to fly him in.
So, say from Seattle to Palm Springs to Jackson, Missippi. How much flying time? Would you stop to rest along the way?
Back. It went pretty well! The vet clinic is nice and bright and of the sort we had back home where there are lots of pictures folks have given them of their pets, and scrapbooks with other photos to look at while waiting. Also it's easy to get in and out of the parking lot. ;-) For me, that's a major plus!
And the vet lady was nice. Apparently this may be an on-going eye problem, but at least they determined there's no actual damage to the eye. She did the dye and blue light thing and looked it over.
She gave me a slightly different antibiotic and an anti-infammatory to use for a week or so, which should clear it up for now. So there's that.
I guess if it's the kitty version of herpes, which is what they think it's likely to be, there's still the chance it will reoccur now and then. As long as I know that's all it is and I'm not a failure at pet ownership for not being able to completely get rid of it, I guess I can deal with that.
How come we don't get cameos? Do you just like Hair better than the rest of us?
Kitty herpes? Oh, poor Tam.
Really now. This is news to you?
FWIW, Hair is the only one who ~asked~ to come to the funeral.
I already have far too many characters for a 50,000 word novel. The widow has five children and I'd like to get rid of two of them. But that would be ~editing~.
How exciting... I wouldn't miss that for the world.
As for flying time, I have no idea about the distances, I don't have charts on-hand. Yes, there'd need to be refueling/meal/bathroom stops.
Anyone know a good site for figuring rough air distances?
No problem. I've still got funeral fatigue.
Maybe I'll go on the Nano site and post that question on the forum...
Naw.... nevermind, I can figure it out.
What am I flying? If it's a twin, I'd say it should be a Beech Baron. It's an attainable light twin, fairly common. Has a good name too.
I'm ignorant here. If you say a Beech Baron, that's good. Gives me two words as well. ;-)
