The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I don't want to know what sort of devious masterplan you're coming up with here...

I just pulled out the clippers last week to do both of the boy's hair. It's really not that hard and it saves me seven bucks per kid. Used the clippers around the ears and at the back of the neck and then trimmed the rest with scissors. Come on up and I'll give ya some pointers. :-)

Oh and the dog went back to the same lady who brought her here...just so no one thinks we're heartless. :-)

Heh!

He already has a BB gun...that one in the picture isn't his, though.

But unlike in the picture, when he shoots at home he has to wear safety glasses.

Nice bit of land though, eh?

There was a pasture with a wooded area toward the back. I liked it a lot.

Oh yeah...I'll have to break down and cut their hair with the buzz. It just saves so much money. Matthew just wanted to experience long hair for a bit...but it's time to cut it.

Mmm... land... land, and kids, and dogs to run around on it. Sounds pretty close to heaven on Earth.

A little trim 'round the ears isn't so much trouble... poor little guy shouldn't have to all the way to buzz cut does he? :-)

<laughing>

No, you don't get to kill anyone. The human factors PhDs were very nice men.

Shhh... don't say that. I'm up to my eyeballs in PhD's that need... uh... uh... "forced perspective".

I have a Wahl hair cutting kit. The electric shears have different combs that go on it that determine just how much is cut off. I used to do the older boys' hair with it all the time. Can't do Clare and Joseph's though; theirs is too curly!

OK, I'm signing off for the weekend. We're leaving here in 4 hours to catch the plane to FL. We'll be back Sunday night. Pray for us a safe trip!

Ruthy, I'll wave at you while we're sitting in the airport in Miami!

I like the ones who look sooo serious.

And then there are the ones who just look bad ... I like them, too!

Heh...and then there's this site, which one of the other Fort Collins NaNo folks brought up at the last get together. Tres bizarre.

I should submit Halvah someday. She practically lives near the bathroom sink. Wouldn't want to miss it when someone switches on the faucet, so she just camps there.

Welll..I'm not a NaNo overachiever like some here, but I at least have the minimum for today - just over 5000. Guess that'll have to do. Tomorrow I should have more writing time.
