Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Cheesey hashbrowns at least :D
To: Overtaxed
When I was up at the cafeteria I did see someone making a sandwich with cheese in a toaster like thing...
To: TalonDJ
A pop up toaster? I should think that the cheese would drip all over the heating element. Might make a toaster madder than if it had a cinnamon raisin bagel shoved down the slot.

Now that I think about it, that person did look kinda 'badgeresk' and I think the name tag said Guido...
That or I am remembering a dream from last night.
To: TalonDJ
Are we the only ones that can't get to our Nanowrimo profie Precious?
To: TalonDJ
He looked like a badger? How's that work?
Oh, confusing dreams and reality, I do that all the time.

I only do it when I can fit it in my busy schedule of delivering the secret plans to the underground base and getting attacked by ninja llamas from the future.
To: TalonDJ
Since the ninja llamas have never attacked me I have decided I must be the person responsible for starting the ninja llama program.

Mornin'
I can't get to my profile either Talon. I've had that happen a couple of times.
Didn't write anymore last night. Didn't get my desk cleared either. Called the wife and we talked fer about 30 minutes. Then I went to bed.
Anxious to write at lunch today. I need to update my outline 'cause I'm working in some new plot twists. I'm still hoping to make 50,000 by November 30, but there's no way that'll be long enough for the story.
My outline started ~at~ the funeral. I backed it up and I'm in four chapters and haven't got to the funeral yet.

That would seem to be the logical conclusion. That or they don't think your descendants in the future are any threat to them... which I find hard to believe.
To: 2Jedismom
Why is your power out?
You know what's interesting, with my feet being fixed by these inserts? My ankle and lower leg isn't swollen anymore... Remember that edema? I think that was all inflamation from the constant re-injury to this tendon in my foot. The edema is gone.

I have heard when editors are getting manuscripts from new authors sometimes the first thing they do is throw away the first few chapters as useless set up stuff. I have been trying to kill off people early so that is not the case... not sure it is working yet though.
To: TalonDJ
It may indeed be useless set up. But I currently need it to define the characters.
But, if an editor buys my book, I'll sacrifice some set up time.

Yeah, those are the ones that is hard for the writer to do without even if the reader might be able to. Not much to do about that. Just include them in the 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Collectors Hardback.
To: Corin Stormhands; ecurbh; Ramius
ecurbh and I just heard a horn that can only be the sound of a large ferry docking out in the store parking lot.
I didn't know we'd been put on the ferry route. :~D
