The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

hehehehe...

I can't help but wonder what exactly a "Guido beast" looks like?

A llama, maybe?

But life is so... delightful, without needing mind-altering chemicals. I'm naturally high on life quite often.

More of a lizard I was thinking. This is a barren and rocky land Ku Lu Ri is in.

I might make a llama a mythical beast on this planet.

Our #1 son, Paul, went to a Halloween party as the Hunter S. Thompson character from that movie. He got a white hat, the funky glasses and a cigarette holder from a seller on ebay. Only one person guessed who he was. He said that among his friends at UMass, all of them would have known, but I guess the Cornell crowd wasn't quite so 'cultured'. ;o)

Heh, we were just watching a Discoverty Channel show, "Inside Hurricane Katrina", and they were interviewing a black city leader from Biloxi. He was identified as Bill Stallworth, and I just stared in amazement! He looks just like a Willie Stallworth I went to high school with!! It's GOT to be the same guy! He was a really nice guy; I'm not surprised if he ended up being a community leader!

Heh...I have 4503...exactly a hundred different. But I'm gonna fall behind over the next few days, I'm afraid.

Way to go, Ruthy! You have a much more challenging schedule to work with, and you're putting a lot of us veterans to shame. ;-)

I'll say something about a Llama.

To say nothing of the dog.

Just munching breakfast and trying not to think about the work I need to get done
