Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So how long do we have to wait for a Robby the Robot who can manufacture fine bourbon?

Does that say you wrote 4735 words today? Wow!
To: Overtaxed
Well, if you program it to make bourbon, not that long. If you program it to tend bar and provide intelligent conversation, well...

Heh... I remember when the first pics of the Martian sky sent back from the first Viking lander came out in shades of blue. Turned out NASA/JPL had applied the wrong color filter to the photos, and they had to re-do them all to get red.

Overachievers...gotta hate 'em. ;-)
I think I'll break 2000 and then goof off for the rest of the evening.
And Bob still hasn't finished his flashback, so that's good, I guess.
Poor Bob...dumped for the evening in mid-flashback.

I think I'll have a badger named Guido - kill two birds with one stone.
Bob is still reading his scam e-mail. I'm tryin' to get the wording right.

Well... yer well on the way. If you need a few more at the last minute you just make somebody sing "La la la la la la la la..." and "la la la la la la..." over and over again...

Well, it's better than writing "She was very, very, very upset at the very, very, very late guest to her very, very ,very important party."

Taken in small bites, it isn't so bad, though.
Of course, I may be singing a different tune by week three. That's typically when I begin to question why I think I can write even daily communication type stuff, let alone interesting stories.
OK, up to 2100. May or may not write more tonight. I'm trying to resist the urge to edit...

That sounded really old, until I realized I'm almost as old as that...I AM older than that! ;o) I remember hearing that when I was a teenager.

My trouble is that I *like* setting up a story...description and general character introduction is fun. But after I'm done that, I generally have one or two plot points I wanna hit, and then an ending...and nothing in between. So I ramble, and bore even myself to tears. Which is why my little sister's story last year ended up at over 60k, for a story that really should be more like 35k. Ugh.
Posted my excerpt. Now get to read other folks'. ;-)
