Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I swear I am not making this up. The following conversation happened in this morning's meeting:
The landowner is upset that he didn't know about this requirement. How could he not know? It was on file in the planning office!

It was a bright spot in the meeting! I was actually daydreaming about Vogon poetry.

Why does New Line have Aragorn wearing an evening gown?

I can't explain that. he's wearing the crown, is that what he was wearing at the coronation? I don't remember if we see him from the waste down.

I like his skirt, can I have one like it? The blouse looks a little heavy, though.

I ~think~ we see him when the camera pulls back as he starts his walk. But I remember the whole scene feeling "blue."
And I ~don't~ remember thinking he'd pulled something out of Arwen's (or Celeborn's) closet.

But Legolas wouldn't be caught dead in polyester.

AHOY ALL - from Sam!
Sam just called me and checked in. He's fine, no major damage at his place. He says he doesn't sweat a mere Cat 2 ;~D
But he doesn't have power yet, and only spotty phone service.

Just got this...just now. I feel so frustrated. I want to help so bad and just can't!
I know the Lord's timing isn't necessarily my own, but this is just frustrating!
There is a desperate need for people to work with the mud out/debris removal teams in New Orleans!
This week our first team is onsite in New Orleans. We were able to take 20 members and 11 went. Leaving Friday there is room for another 20 to go on the trip. Currently there are 5 confirmed for the trip. Please let me know ASAP if you are available to join this team!
This week we are fortunate to have HASMAT certified team leaders. They went in advance to find out what work we would do and what precautions need to be taken in order to protect your health. These precautions are being taken. Tyvek suits are provided for you to wear during your work onsite. You will also have face masks, rubber boots, and rubber gloves.
Teams are leaving each Friday and returning the following weekend. A group will go each week between now and mid December except for the week of Thanksgiving.
Please contact me as soon as possible if you are available to join one of these teams!
Thank you!
