Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Give me oil for my lamp, keep it burning
Give me oil for my lamp I pray
Give me oil for my lamp, keep it burning
Keep it burning to the break of day....
Great, thanks for getting old Sunday School jingles stuck in my head.

I see that you are wise and not foolish. But it's probably best if I drop the analogy there...

John 8:7
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. You may interpret my reluctance to cast the first stone in any manner you see fit.

I think we're getting hurricane force winds Monday, the models are aligning closely tonight. The only question is, how long and how strong? Chances are we won't get the eye, anyway.

Back. Actually it was just the maze in the dark - not a haunted maze...which was fine with me! We got somewhat lost and it was pretty dark, but we did pretty well! I let others do the map reading...I'm better at being a sheep-like follower than I am at navigation. Heh...
Afterwards, some of us hung out for awhile and had hot chocolate and then went to a sort of hole-in-the-wall Mexican place in the little town nearby. We were the only ones there, and they were getting ready to close, but said it was OK for us to come in. I had enchiladas - very good! I have leftovers, too. Mmmm... Not bad for about six bucks for two meals.

How did the new rounds work out? the 20.5 gr RE7 with a Speer 50 gr HP had the best group, 1" at 100 yds... this was the lightest load I tried, still throws 'em at about 2800 fps... still fast enuff tuh turn a varmint intuh a red cloud...
the heaviest load, 22.3 gr (3200 fps) only had a 2" group, the other were in between... not bad, but I'm using the 20.5 gr load fer now...
went on a 'yote hunt this evenin', 'steaduh sleepin'... didn't see no dogs, but saw 6 deer, including two bucks... a 6 pointer, and a fair 8 pointer... nice evenin' with theboy and a friend and his son...
