Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hello everyone!
Am sorry I did not respond immediately to your FReepmails about NaNoWriMo - the router on our computer got blown out by a power surge and internet was inaccessible for a few days.
Im not entirely certain I should join the NaNoWriMo (if I still can) because Im finding I do well to stay on top of lesson planning for Erin. The History and Science portion of the curriculum is intensive!! If someone could point me in the direction of the place to sign up though, I would like to take a look at it. Right now, there is nothing that I want to write about, so I may end up bailing on y'all AGAIN! LOL
Hope everyone is doing well. Have missed checking in on y'all.

Evenin' folks!
House is shuttered tight and the only thing left to do is push the stuff left outside into the bushes. I'll do that IF (I refuse to use the word "when") the first feederband gets here. :-D

Oh dear... I pray it misses you entirely, Ruthie.
Now, what are the plans for moving OUT of hurricane zone before next season?

I'm seeing a number of reporters settling themselves in Naples and Ft Myers, so that's north and on the other side of the state from me.
Gives me hope that all we'll have here is some blustery wind and rain.
This hurricane season has worn me out. Worse than last year.
It's never been this bad in all the time I've lived here (26 years).

Thats exactly what I was thinking after Rita - plum wore me out, even if all we got was a few fractious gusts. The anticipation was far worse than the actual reality.

The anticipation was far worse than the actual reality.Which is the case 99.9% of the time.
And the aftermath is always worse than the actual storm. 80+ degrees with 80+ humidity and no A/C?
Yuck!
