Welcome!!!

"We're so glad to see so many of you lovely people here tonight...

...We would especially like to welcome all the representatives of Illinois' law enforcement community who have chosen to join us here at the Place Hotel Ballroom at this time. We certainly hope you all enjoy the show and remember people that no matter who you are and what you do to live, thrive and survive, there's still some things that make us all the same...

...You, me, them, everybody..."

"…You know people, when you do find that special somebody, you gotta hold that man, hold that woman, love him, please him, squeeze her, please her, signify your feelings with every gentle caress…because it’s so important to have that special somebody to hold, to kiss, to miss, to squeeze, and please…"

Goodness knows what our downstairs neighbors think of us...I dunno what it sounds like from there!

Now, the one that died last year -- he was another story. It seemed that every night I was getting out of bed to hunt him down. He loved it, too.

He would try to open the sliding closet door, knock things over by the side of my bed, and wail like he was being knifed.

That's when he wasn't in the bathtub screaming and knocking around everything he could find. Closing the door wouldn't help -- he'd just find something else to do.

Why does the FDA hate it so much?

Maybe it's a threat, i.e., less money to the sugar industry?

Heh...now that sounds more like Tam. Luckily he's usually doing that during the day. Especially the wailing part...he's Siamese, so has that down to an art.

Halvah just chatters. She doesn't howl like Tam does. But she'll carry on an interminable conversation if you answer her.

If it's better than the other artificial sweeteners, maybe it's a threat to them.

I am sorry to hear that. I lost a cat in 2003.

My cat loves to be chased too.

Closing the door does not help here either. She is clever.

I made a mistake with Piper when he was a kitten -- I would get up every time he would wail to make sure he was alright.

So he knew he could get me up doing that. When I stopped getting up and would put the pillow over my head, he would change his cry to a low-pitch horrible sound. I HAD to get up, because I figured he might really be hurt this time.

But there he'd be, just blinking at me when I turned on the light.

Mine resorts to making as much noise as possible if meowing does not work with her.

I tried locking Piper outside my bedroom one day, but I was afraid the lady downstairs would report me. He was wailing louder than he ever had before, and ramming the door (apparently).

When I let him in, he was silent for five minutes, and I thought I would FINALLY get some sleep.

Then, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

LOL, my cat must be his brother. The low-pitch horrible sound is something else, isn't it. I dare not ignore it.

Piper skipped the meowing and went straight for the wail.

Ouch. My bigger cat Marvin does that too. He has done less since he has Molly to play with but still wails sometimes.

It is horrible -- it sounded like he was seriously injured and dying a slow death.

Marvin did that once. Scared the sh*t out of me because I thought he was hurt too.
