Georgia is the pits! I was driving to Florida and was going through Georgia at about 2 A.M. and talking on my cell phone to my friend in CA when I saw these blue lights in my rear window. Darn it! my first speeding ticket since I was 23 years old! He said he clocked me at 88 mph. I told him I thought I was only going 80. The speed limit was 70. :( He was really sweet, though, and dropped the speed low enough so I would not get any points against my license or whatever you call it. He also wrote on there that I was on the cell phone. :(

Put me on that list,too.

And, don't feel bad, cause not many people read your 'toons, and respond. I would guess a lot more read them, and just don't respond. Same thing happens to me, when I write a song or poem or story. Few responses, and some of them negative, such as when I wrote "America, I miss you". Many of the responses I got were from those saying I was a pessimist, because in the poem ,I long for the America I knew as a teen and child.

Ah, but Seattle is such a beautiful city. I loved the market when I was out there.

Night everyone! It is time for Grandma to hit the hay!

(My grandchildren call me Dama. I like that better than Grandma. I am more of a Dama kind of grandmother! LOL!)

Yeah it is too bad Seattle has been leftist for the past 18 years or so. Hopefully we take back our state the next time around.

Well goodnight Dama :)

"He was really sweet, though, and dropped the speed low enough so I would not get any points against my license or whatever you call it."

I got a speeding ticket, too...maybe we got pulled over by the same guy, because he did the exact same thing.

In GA, there's a joke about the fact that every freeway, expressway, etc. has lots of "Speed Minimum" Signs, rather than speed limit. Like the attitude of the GA police towards the freeways are, "We don't care how fast you're going, as long as you're not going THIS slow."

Alright, enough dragging it out, we both need to go to bed.

Oh, and that's weird, about your late husband's name and all...

I once got a speeding ticket coming home late at night with nobody on the freeway for going 60 mph in a 55 zone. Sometimes you just gotta love the cops.

You are listed.

Actually, the poem sounds interesting. I remember Liddy's book, "When I Was a Kid, This Was a Free Country."

In my old hometown, there was a little trashy redneck town right down the steet from where I lived. The cops would get you there for going 26 in a 25 zone. You had to be really careful.

One night, I saw on Fox News, Brit Hume saying, "In the town of Porterdale, GA, two cops were charged after it was discovered that they were making bets every night to see who could write the most speeding tickets..."

I was on the floor laughing.

The money they make from speeding tickets is what keeps Georgia's finances in the black! LOL!

yep. I can believe that! I creep through Georgia.

I almost got a speeding ticket coming back into Virginia from Ohio shortly after that. The policeman made the mistake of asking me how I was, so I began to tell him in detail.. His eyes bugged out and he moved back and told me he was going to give me a break that night and was in his cruiser before I could say another word. I must have scared the heck out of him.
