In a Westside traffic accident that gives new meaning to the term "star-struck," a black Mercedes-Benz driven by teenage actress Lindsay Lohan collided Tuesday afternoon with a van along a stretch of Robertson Boulevard, just blocks from where the star was rammed by a photographer months earlier.
Tuesday's accident, which remains under investigation, occurred shortly after Lohan was trailed and photographed by paparazzi as she lunched and shopped along the boulevard. Though authorities declined to state whether paparazzi were involved in the accident, Lohan's publicist blamed the collision on photographers.
The van's driver was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, authorities said, while Lohan and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
According to witnesses and authorities, the star of such films as "Mean Girls" and "Herbie: Fully Loaded" was driving her convertible Mercedes north on Robertson when she struck a maroon van that was making a U-turn in front of her. The accident occurred just before 5 p.m., near Beverly Boulevard.
The van, which was driven by an employee of the Newsroom Cafe, was trying to pull into a parking space when it was struck on the driver's side and propelled into a large truck, authorities said.
"It was a very violent crash," said witness Katherine Starr, 50, of New Orleans. "It was such a loud impact, it was explosive."
Starr said she was walking along the sidewalk when she noticed Lohan driving at a high rate of speed.
"She was just flying down the street," Starr said. "People crawl along there, but she had to be going 50 or 60 mph. I really don't think she should have been driving so fast. There's too much pedestrian activity there."

We need an "Island of Misfit Freepers" pinglist.
Sad thing is, we know they are not silicone because she became anorexic and they disappeared along with everything else attractive about her.
"You have a tart that has crashed her third Mercedes SL in a year..."
Coincidence? No. I'm not hearing about other self-absorbed stars cracking up their cars with paparazzi.
I guess I will have too if this is what is going to be posted here for us to read.
This thread is useless without pics....
Nothing new there then, if spinning news is "news." It will become "news" when the MSM stops spinning news. However, we all know that hell freezes over first, or Boston.
ditto.
That's the spirit!
Basically the entire Industrial Strength Humor Pinglist.
With a generous sampling of Motorcycle Hooligans.
And a whiff of Cigar Aficionados.
Where oh where is the Lohan of Lore?
Why did you leave me here alone?
(think Hee Haw)
Ugly shoes?
The Mercedes is clearly at fault here. We know this behavior is a trait of that marque, as evidenced a few years ago when that M-Class went berserk in the Hamptons.
LOL
Is there really anything on the internet, that we cannot live without?
I still picture Linsey as that cute little girl on parent trap. It is hard to view her as a sex object. Same for Drew Barrymore.
Oh, thanks for sticking me with *that* earworm. Next you'll be reciting "Rindercella and her Two Sad Blisters".
Thus this is a true issue worth discussing: death by paparazzi. As foolish as we might think the whole Hollywood culture is, do we want more Diana-like deaths? I do not know whether restraint is needed by the photogs in vehicles, or by the stars themselves trying to outmaneuver the cameras. I believe some stars deliberately parade along once in a while and allow the cameras as part of their job (being famous; it pays well, too). And for the rest of the time hide behind limousines, etc. Not that dumb of an idea. There are always innocents hurt in these accidents too (like the van driver in this one -- or was he a paparazzo?).
For entirely different reasons in my case.
