At first I rolled my eyes at this story and thought of Spicoli: "People on Ludes [coke/whatever] should not drive!" But then I did read in a news story that 30+ reporters/paparazzi were following her around as she shopped. And I also realized that her picture is obligatory in each issue of every star mag.

Thus this is a true issue worth discussing: death by paparazzi. As foolish as we might think the whole Hollywood culture is, do we want more Diana-like deaths? I do not know whether restraint is needed by the photogs in vehicles, or by the stars themselves trying to outmaneuver the cameras. I believe some stars deliberately parade along once in a while and allow the cameras as part of their job (being famous; it pays well, too). And for the rest of the time hide behind limousines, etc. Not that dumb of an idea. There are always innocents hurt in these accidents too (like the van driver in this one -- or was he a paparazzo?).

I absolutely despise paparazzi. Even more so than Hollywood "stars."
