Local 7-11 today.
As my young son and I approach the counter to pay for our things, I hear one employee telling our soon to be cashier about the gaff with the defective body armor GWB was wearing.
We set our items on the counter and the very young, ring through the nose, white female cashier responds, "Too bad somebody did not try to take him out."
I looked at her and said, "That is no way to talk about your President!"
"He is not my President!" was the immediate, and expected, response.
"Then you are a very confused young lady, aren't you!", I said.
After several seconds of a blank stare, I continued.
"GWB is the President of the US of A. That means he is the President to every citizen in this country. You must be in the wrong country! I suggest you leave immediately, before the INS comes looking for you."
Giggles from several folks in line behind us.
I put my wallet back in my pocket, leaving our unpaid for items on the counter, and loudly told my son, "Come on, we need to find a store where the hired help has not been brain washed by the 'Rats", and we left.
By the time I got to the vehicle, I was whopper-jaw PO'd. If the young one had not been with me.....
I really think that it is time for people to stand up to the bullying, not only the bullying on the tv and other media, but the leftist hate fests that occur all around us.
We can point out that they can grow out of that two-year-old, everybody is me phase and realize that others have differing opinions.
Oh, I have a GREAT one. I am a white english teacher at a 95% black high school.
My black high school students were talking about the N.O. debacle, and I mentioned that perhaps the mayor was to blame for all of the problems, because he didn't use any of the buses. We talked about it, and someone got it out of me that I voted for Bush. One student said point blank, "You know, you're racist!"
I said to him, "You know why you are in school right? So you learn not to make a fool out of yourself when you go out into the world. Now you have just told a man who married outside of his race and has a mixed-race child, and who voted for a President who chose the first black secretary of state and first black, female secretary of state that he is a racist? Maybe you should study a little harder."
I was livid.
Thank you.
She was working in a 7-11 and actually spoke English? :-)
The casher, has has carried this kind of attitude most of her life. That is the chief reason she carries a menial job, running someone else's cash register.
I was on a Delta flight last week out of Atlanta, you know, Delta Airlines, the one that has just now filed for bankruptcy partially because of high fuel prices.
The stewardess, who was old enough to know better, was telling us how much fun it was the week before protesting Alaskan drilling. What a dolt. I'm sure she had no clue that she had no clue that energy prices and her job were related.
"Are you REALLY that stupid?"
That question was directed at the mindless drone on your flight. Not at you.
Good for you! I am proud of you.
You're talking to the engine? Admittedly, it might be more willing to change it's worldview than your average obliviot, but it's probably not going to hear you from outside the cabin.
-grin
I'm sick of the disrespect and vitriolic hatred towards President Bush and I also heard a coworker a couple of weeks ago stating that "Bush ought to be shot"
when I called her on it, she accused me of viokating her freedom of speech.
I did report her to the FBI, should've gone to the Secret Service.
Know what that's like. I was with my son who heard some bush bashing in the store. He has a very loud voice and louder when he's excited. someone was complaining and blaming President Bush for NO, making racist remarks. He turned and said, they must be democrats, if the Democrats would quit trying to keep them dumb, depressed and dependant on them, maybe these people could learn to think for themselves. I get so tired of our GOP representatives not getting behind our president and stop some of this bashing.
That is the only way to put them in their place. Kids are taught to be racist by racist parents. They have no respect for the office. Booker T. Washington had some great quotes that they need to consider before they open their mouths. My sister-in-law teaches English in Omaha, NE and has the same problem. How do you reason with a racist who only knows hate.
Unfortunately, what we're seeing in general is the twilight of authority.
