It's all in the editing ;-)))))))))))))))))))))
I think that was Asshat's excuse last year.
Wow, the only African-American family cast was not only labelled "The Black Family" but they were also first to be eliminated. At least we can now be certain that this race wasn't fixed, because combined it is a producer's worst nightmare (from a PC PR perspective.)

LOL. Where is Jesse Jackson? ;-)
I give great credit to the Weaver family. She gets almost killed or maimed by a buggy, the family relives their dad's accident...and they keep on trucking and don't fall apart.

I hated to see the Blacks come in last. They appear to be a real classy family. I hope they will be invited to another reality show in the near future. Wouldn't it be nice to see more of them?

The Father of the Black family looked very disappointed when they found out they were eliminated from the race.
But he sucked it up and was very gracious, something that has been missing on TAR, especially on season 6.
Haven't seen season 7.
Mr. Black if you ever read this thread, you can be very proud of your family.

We need nicknames for the teams. It's a bit early to know all of them well enough but we know the Paolo's are Team Bickerson. Any other suggestions?

The only nickname I could come up with is for the Weaver's and I'm not being purposefully mean, just apt of an description of a modern American cultural icon.
After seeing Mrs. Weaver being run over by the Amish buggy(with her husband being killed by a race car), they should be nicknamed Team Twilight Zone.

The one time I dared to sass my mom when I was a teen I got a nice slap across the face. I never did that again! :) I cannot stand that family. I hope they are not the ones to win. shudder.

Heads-up--The Black Family is on CBS's Early Show this morning. They're still wearing their tie-dye shirts :)
Dad: "The river was tough. You have to have a lot of muscle power to get across the Delaware (laughing)." He says their George Washington was too big--if they had a lighter Washington they might have rowed faster :)
Harry Smith: "When you get chosen to be on the show how long before you get to participate?"
"It's a long process ... We're fortunate to be a part of it."
They wanted to win, but they're not bitter about losing. Their good attitude remains intact.

Mr. Black if you ever read this thread, you can be very proud of your family. I second that.

For nicknames, I like "The Blondes" for the Godlewski sisters--that's easier to type than "Godlewski" :)

The Black Family are good people. Sorry to see them eliminated this early.
I thought that having young kids would have a big drawback. It is not entertaining to watch young kids get their hearts broken. I was just wishing there would be some type of prize for the kids. Not part of the rules though, and I understand, but, as the mother of an 11 year old and an 8 year old it was hard to take.
One point though. I think if the Black Family would have done the buggy they might have had a fighting chance. The two kids weighed nothing and, imo, would have been less a struggle then building a house with only mom & dad being able to contribute.

Is that the family were the parents are both marathon runners?
