Not suing TAR but isn't she in a lawsuit with the race track. I'm just wondering if CBS is tied to it somehow. I know, it's dumb but i just want to spread some gossip. :)
To: EmilyGeiger
Oh yeah--the Weavers are suing the Daytona Speedway. Forgot about that :)
At the beginning of the race, they were my sympathetic favorites :-/
To: silent_jonny
Yep mine too. Too bad the sympathy has run dry. :) I hope the LInz or Bransens win.
To: silent_jonny

WooHoo! It is a CHRISTmas tree, again. There is still hope for the country.
TAR is still an hour and 5 minutes from starting here.
I'll read all about it after I watch it.

WooHoo! It is a CHRISTmas tree, again Amen to that! And Dennis Hastert has thrown out the "Holiday Tree" garbage at the Capitol, too :)
To: EmilyGeiger
Was CBS part of the lawsuit and this is their way of not having to pay so much? What's this about a law suit? Please fill me in.

Ok, I see the post about the suit. Because of the father, I'm assuming. I used to like and feel sorry for Rolly being in such a family, but the last couple episodes he's been running his mouth. The sisters are getting in my last nerve though and I'm all for them getting kicked off next week above the Weavers.

SURPRISE! IT'S NOT OVER
'TIL PHIL SAYS SO
After a two-day leg that took Teams across Utah into Wyoming and included a grueling Detour of railroad building, the Bransens and Weavers received a shock from Phil when he handed them their next clue. The leg wasnt over yet. Meanwhile, having to wait for an eruption at Old Faithful, the Linzes and bickering Godlewskis battled for last place, unaware of what would be waiting for them at the mat.
SHOWDOWN
Departing the Pit Stop in first place at 12:34 am, the Linz family opened their clue to discover they needed to drive to Park City High School. At the school, the siblings opened another clue instructing them to help a crew to inflate a hot air balloon. They were then to get onboard for a scenic ride over the Utah countryside. Starting at 6 am, shuttles would depart for the balloon site every ten minutes with each shuttle carrying one Team.
With the Linzes, Bransens, and Godlewskis all sleeping in their campers at the high school, the Weaver family departed the Pit Stop in last place at 5:02 am, more than three hours behind the other Teams. However, this deficit was erased in a matter of minutes when the Weavers excitedly pulled into the high school parking lot as the other Teams woke up from their nap in anticipation of the shuttles. Taunting her opponents, Linda Weaver shouted, Were you sorry you wasted your yield? You will be! In shock, the Godlewski sisters muttered, What is her problem? Psycho. Afterwards, the Weavers, very proud of their behavior, commented, Even if we dont win, we got to say what we wanted to say.
UP, UP AND AWAY
After taking the 6 am shuttle, the Linz family set to work on inflating their 700-pound balloon after removing it from the back of the truck along with the basket that would hold them. As the other three Teams inflated their balloons, the Linzes set sail, admiring the view from above. While the Linzes nearly collided in mid-air with the Bransens, they eventually landed safely on the ground to earn their next clue. Opening it, they learned they had to drive 14 miles to Heber City and find Heber Valley Railway.
Arriving at the Heber Valley Railway in first place, the Linz family opened their clue to discover a Detour. In this Detour, Teams had to choose between Spike It and Steam It. In Spike It, Teams used old-time materials and tools to complete a 20-foot section of railway track. The task required precision work, but Teams with an eye for detail could finish quickly. In Steam It, Teams used buckets to fill the tender of an old-time steam locomotive with 400 pounds of coal. The task didnt require any precision, but running hundreds of pounds of coal back and forth could take a long time.
WORKING ON THE RAILROAD
As the Linz siblings ran off to begin constructing their piece of the railroad by lifting heavy steel rails, the Bransens pulled in and opted for the same choice, but not before Lindsay struggled with the definition of precision. With both Teams making progress by pounding spikes in the railroad ties and slamming the metal rails into place with efficiency, the Godlewski sisters showed up and tried flexing their muscles on the railroad as well. However, they got off to a rocky start when Sharon didnt appreciate Christines help by holding a spike in place with her wrench, shouting, Move! Get out of my way! Youre not helping! A hurt Christine replied, Dont talk to me like Im an animal or something.

Must be cold in Utah ;-)
As the sisters continued their bickering, the Weavers, trying to find a way out of last place, chose to haul coal to the tender of a locomotive. Using teamwork, Linda would fill a pail and hand it up to her children who threw it into tender before running back to the large pile of coal for another round.
WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
After failing an inspection of their railroad work because of a faulty spike, the Linzes made the needed correction to earn their next clue. Opening it, they discovered they had to drive 148 miles to the Bonneville Salt Flats and find the 87-foot sculpture known as the Tree of Utah, which was built to bring color and beauty to the stark landscape. Because of Wallys strength and coordination in hitting the spikes, the Bransen family finished close behind the Linzes. After, Wally remarked, This was my chance to shine as opposed to dragging them down like I do most legs.
With the Godlewskis still struggling to work together, the Weavers finished hauling their coal to move into third. As the Weavers hurried off, the Godlewskis fighting worsened. Annoyed with Christine, Michelle shouted, Can I have a different partner, please? One with a smaller mouth? Then, working with Sharon, Christine was met with the order, Dont get in my way, please. Michelle and Sharon also tried to blame Christine for choosing this Detour, forcing Chris to defend herself, yelling, We all did. Just stop it! Finally, the sisters earned their clue and headed to the Bonneville Flats. Chris began crying, but got no sympathy from her sisters.
Chris last night ...
... and Chris six episodes ago.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Arriving in the stark white fields of the Bonneville Salt Flats, the Linzes located the colorful Tree of Utah along with their next clue. Opening it, they learned they had to drive 400 miles to Garden City and find Bear Lake Rendezvous Beach where they would be camping for the night. The order that they arrived would determine their departure the following morning. Beginning at 8:30 am, departure times would be 15 minutes apart. With the Bransens arriving moments later to what they dubbed The Tree of Hemorrhoids, the race for the 8:30 am departure was underway. The Bransens, with Wally at the wheel, nabbed the 8:30 am spot while the Weaver family arrived in second place. With the Godlewskis securing the 9 am departure in third place, the Linz family settled for a 9:15 am departure after a production problem caused them to fall into last place.
The next morning at 8:30 am, the Bransens opened their clue to discover they needed to drive 137 miles to Big Piney, Wyoming and find the Dunham Ranch near the headwaters of the Green River. With all Teams en route to Wyoming, the last place Linzes knew they had some ground to make up. Alex commented, It doesnt matter who we get in front of as long as were getting in front of people.
ROUND EM UP
Arriving at the Dunham Ranch in first place, the Bransens opened their clue to discover a Roadblock. In this Roadblock, two Team members had to mount horses, take six cattle from a holding pen and herd them downrange a quarter mile into a corral. With Wally giving the advice of dont be afraid to ride them, Beth and Lauren trotted into the lush green Utah field on their selected horses. After releasing the cattle and smaller calves from the pen, the two sisters began directing them through the field toward the corral. After getting the cattle all safely in the pen, the Bransens opened their next clue that instructed them to drive 190 miles to Yellowstone National Park and find Old Faithful, which erupts approximately every 90 minutes. Once they watched an eruption, they would earn their next clue.
FACE OFF
After the Bransens headed out, the Weaver family, aided by the horse prowess of Rebecca and Rachel, completed the Roadblock quickly as well. When leaving the ranch, the family encountered the Linz siblings, in last place barely behind the Godlewski sisters, on the narrow path leading to the main road. Initially, neither side wanted to yield to the other, but, according to the rules, the Linzes ultimately gave way, letting the Weavers pass first. An appalled Linda Weaver remarked, Theyre so icky, I cant stand them. Equally unimpressed, Megan Linz said, They are so rude.
THE END?
Arriving at Yellowstone National Park in first place, the Bransens discovered they needed to wait about 40 minutes for the next eruption of Old Faithful. This allowed the second place Weavers to show up and both Teams enjoyed the eruption together. The disappointed Godlewski sisters and Linz siblings witnessed the eruption from a distance as they entered the park, realizing they now had to wait another 90 minutes. Meanwhile, the Bransens and Weavers opened their clue to learn they had to drive on Highway 287 and find the ranch at 15200 where Phil would be waiting.
After the Godlewskis and Bransens waited the 90 minutes to watch Old Faithful erupt, they sped off realizing that one of them could be eliminated. At the same time, the Bransens and Weavers each devised plans on how to beat the other Team to the mat. Pulling into 15200, both families made a mad dash to Phil. Although the Bransens narrowly beat the Weavers, Phil asked both Teams to join him on the mat. He then told them this leg of the race wasnt over and handed them their next clue. Rachel Weaver lamented, How long is this leg going to go on?

Me too. The other teams should've been stopped wherever they were for the same amount of time that it took for the Linzes to get a new truck. That's only fair, IMO.

The sisters are getting in my last nerve though and I'm all for them getting kicked off next week above the Weavers.
Yeah. I would never let my daughters treat each other the way these women treat their sister. I always tell my girls that they will have friends come and go in their lives but their sisters they will have forever. Even when a sibling annoys you, it's not ok to talk hatefully to them. At least the Weavers work together well as a team and as family. Frankly, I just wish both of them would go.
To: silent_jonny
In all previous episodes, delays caused by production are accounted for by subtracting the time delay from the teams final time. If the team shows up 15 minutes behind another team but had 12 minutes of production delay then they would leave 3 minutes behind at the start of the new leg.
I guess since the teams are all leaving at set intervals (10-15 minutes apart) if the delay doesn't take more than that time all it really does is screw up a team's placing.

I was worried, since I am now in Denver (MST) -- I think it is on in a few minutes.
