Just heard on WEEI that Pats safety Rodney Harrison has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder this season.
I think that is the thing that kills the Rams.
they look at the names.
It isn't about the names of the players or what they have done.
It is what is done during the games.
The Pats have proved this over and over again, with what you would call "generic" receivers...
And I do think the Colts have done a complete 180 on defense. They aren't up to Pittsburgh and NE standards, but they aren't Houston and Cleveland anymore either....
I put Holt just below T.O. and Moss.
nah...he will be the next head college football coach at either Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee or Georgia if Richt moves on (which I wouldn't).
The guy is an EXCELLENT college coach, but he sucked in the NFL. Kinda like Spurrier....
Cleveland did that at one point....
The Browns are looking better than I thought they would this early...
I hope it continues...they might even be in the playoffs in 3 years....
They ain't my team. I don't like the Rams (I don't like anybody that plays finesse football and I'm an AFC guy) and I think Bulger's primary talent was in getting those receivers to through too. Inspite of not liking them I must respect their ability to put up big numbers.
Actually I think SDs big turn around was in throwing to LT, they ran him plenty in their first to games but seemd to forget you can throw to guys that line up in the backfield. When you've got a versatile RB you need to keep the other team guessing on how you're going to give him the ball, it's OK to announce to the other team that Mr Versatile will be getting the ball a lot but you need to confuse them with how, then every once in a while leave him back to pass block and really make them panic.
As an offense even if your ground game isn't going anywhere you'll stick with it if you keep converting the third down pass plays.
Oh wow! Thats going to be a good game! Another good Purdue QB. :)
I forgot to ask you. How did your defense look yesterday?
That sucks. But the Pat's are no strangers to diversity..
Actually I think the Rams should pay more attention to the names, in the Martz era they haven't lost a single game where Faulk touched the ball at least 25 times... problem is that's only about 1/3 of the games in the Martz era.
Martz is pass whacky, he took over "the great show on turf" and thought that meant he should be trying to light up the score board on every play. Why he hasn't been fired yet is beyond me.
I liked how Tomlinson threw for the TD also... :D
I couldn't tell you more than what the stats said.
I now live in Bungle territory and I get stuck with all those games instead of the Browns games I got in columbus....
In raw skill yeah, in value to the team I'd put him above them because he's not a discipline case. If I was a GM doing an expansion draft and all three of them were unprotected (yeah I know, never happen, but IF) I'd take Holt and leave the other two.
Patience. I can see the Bengals and Browns fighting it out for the division crown in 2007.
SD had the Colts beat at Indy last year but of course Marty got conservative and gave Manning the chance to beat them.
If the Pats don't make any mistakes they should be all right.
Once again proven by the Pats yesterday, what were they averaging on the ground, like 2.low a play, but 2 HUGE TDs and just enough runs to keep the Steelers D honest.
Gotta give some props to Reid, yesterday he sure looked like he'd abandoned the run (and for the most part did) but 2 or 3 times he threw in a completely unexpected run that got big yards and brought it back as a threat. I'm always giving Reid crap for abandoning the run and it's only fair for me to aknowledge that he only mostly did yesterday.
yeah but I will still get the damned Bungle games....
We've come to expect things like this each year.
