Well, I just had the most romantic Anniversary Dinner.
Mr IG comes in the door and says "Do you want to go to town for supper?", at 7:45
I said, "They close at 8:00". But I had a menu taped on the wall by the phone, so I called and ordered our food. He washed his hands and put on a clean shirt. I grabbed a hooded sweatshirt and pulled it over my head and away we went.
I am alone now. He went back to the field to combine a few more rounds.
LOL!
Well, Mr. Marple has moments like that. When I get grumpy, I remember that when I was in labor and about to eliver, and it was shift change and their were no doctors or nurses around, he put me on the gurney and wheeled me to the delivery room, shouting for someone to come help me. By gollly, working in coal mines gave him the voice to get results! People came out of nowhere to help me, including a doctor who delivered my daughter in coat, tie, and gloves! LOL!
You, two, make me smile and treasure MY similarities at home.
Men! We are generally much more lowkey, like you have described, about our anniversaries too. But the 25th seemed to spark something in my husband.
I'm happy to report that the man who lives in our neighborhood who was born in New Orleans and lived there for years and is a staunch Democrat took me aside, and so did his wife, and told me they thought that Bush's speech last night was the best he's ever given. There is hope for some leftists.
