Top 7 Smells (vanity)
PA Times | 9/14/05 | Dr. Pissant

Researchers have long realized that our sense of smell contributes greatly to our overall satisfaction or disatisfaction with foods. It has also been established that smells can trigger memories, good or bad, of events long ago.

Here at the Pissant Research Center, we've now compiled the definitive list of smells that improve our moods and make getting out of bed each morning that much easier!

Top 7 Pleasurable Smells

1. Baked Pies:--It does not matter weather its apple, blueberry, or pumpkin. It triggers an instant drool reaction

2. Chocolate Chip Cookies:--Self evident

3. A Good Hoppy Beer:--The combination of the sweet smelling malt and the flowery hops...makes me want to crack one right now!!

4. A Woman's Perspiration:--Not the 3 days without a shower smell, rather the smell of a clean, lightly perfumed woman who is sweating for the best of reasons

5. Gasoline:--There's a reason why many people get brain damage from huffing. Plus it reminds us of sunny days mowing the lawn

6. Fresh Mowed Grass:--Often follows the smell of gasoline and the preceeds the smell of a Good Hoppy Beer

7. Pipe Tobacco:--Everyone had a relative that smoked a pipe, and in light concentrations, the stuff smells good enough to eat.

I loved the watermelon and the girls who ate them.

Liturgical Incense.

Particularly at Christmas...

Gingerbread and pine needles.

Rotting leaves mixed with the first nip of frost. Freezing, you shut the bedroom window for the first time since May and crawl back under the warm covers.

You're making me homesick for Minnesota. Some of us are marooned in Arizona

Oh yes, fresh smores at a campfire...

I posted earlier, then I remembered baby smell. I love a baby after they've just had a bath and their hair washed with "Baby Magic"....I'll give my 10 month old grandson a bath just so I can smell him afterward. LOL

Whenever I take my eight year old to Wal-mart, we have to stop by automotive to sniff the new tires.

I so agree with you. Alan Colmes is like Keith Richards, only not as good looking. (And no, I don't think Keith Richards is attractive either.) They both have the appearance of having been embalmed.
