Any web sites that have free debate?
Posted on 09/12/2005 5:59:39 PM PDT by Pigsley
God. I listen to Michael Medved and Dennis Prager because of the open debate...but I can't find an internet forum of the like.
Does anyone have a site that would satisfy me?
I love FR, but debate is not the thing here. Certainly not on DU.
I learn from debate...Not, R or D, but am open minded and would appreciate a link.

Every forum or blog has its bias -- and if that bias is not enforced, it is means (1) not much traffic, you'll be "discussing" with the few or (2) the site (such as usenet open discussion forums) are overrun by spam, nastiness and nonsense and motor-mouths.
FR was more open once, very light moderation -- but it became overrun by (2). JimRob expanded his moderation, and appointed moderators. It was a necessity.
That is, you'll have to settle for situation (1) for a "free" discussion.

Which "It's Bush's Fault" would you like to debate?
What facts are you in doubt of that need debating.
Freepers debate with facts which could pose a problem.

Why would listening to Air America get me banned here?

All forums that have totally "free" debate degenerate into trash-talking and spam fests. The amount of control is variable, depending on the level of civility/hostility the owners of that forum want to allow. As these things go, FR is pretty open.

Let's debate Stewart Smalley's and his creative financing for Air America!
What do you think of Franken and his buddies stealing all that money from that inner-city children charity organization? ...hear about that?

independent.co.uk used to have a real good debate forum filled with all kinds of lefties and muslims, but I havent been there in a long time.

Without at least some moderation, any forum will become a free-for-all.

This is definately my favorite internet site...after Dogster.com, of course.
Where have you been all the time since mid Feb? You'd have thought that you'd be right here participating on your favorite internet site...... or is it now not your favorite?
PS you may try googling 'TLBSHOW' and checking out his debating on various sites.... He maybe right up your alley especially if you can convince him you look like that lil' Coulter gal.
