FEMA and Red Cross a Fraud...Give me $20,000
Fox News | 09/10/05 | Self

Posted on 09/10/2005 12:10:10 PM PDT by RTINSC

A "refugee" uh, American, at Houston Astrodome just complained that Red Cross and FEMA were GD frauds because he couldn't activate his 2k debit card. Asked what he wanted to happen, he said he should be given 20,000 to get his life going. Used a few "F" words to make his point on national TV..

I wonder how much he's paid in federal taxes in his lifetime?

I wonder how much he's received in federal tax dollars in his lifetime?

I couldn’t agree with you more! The next time Hillary talks about more money for Education, Healthcare, or John Kerry talks about his life time cradle to the grave insurance for "the children" this is what socialism is, welfare and look what you get!....what has been promised to these welfare cripples from our entire government is just mind boggling and unless they are taken by the hand like children and shown how to care for themselves, they will always buy the tech goodies. New Orleans is 75%, not 65% but 75% black and only a small percentage has managed to get out of welfare. The Democratic Party should be very proud of themselves for keeping so many helplessly bound and on the plantation.

Sound harsh? Life is harsh but fair if you work at it.

That able bodied man should be given a one way ticket, and shovel, and sent back today to New Orleans to help clean up "his" town, instead of someone else doing it for him.

$2000 could've bought him a ticket back to his 'ancestral home'. You know, the one he left on that slave ship he so fondly remembers. Chance to repatriate himself with his fifth-sixth-seventh cousins 10 times removed that are still back home in the old country.

I read your profile. I am in the Ozarks as well. NW Ark. We do not have the infrastructure in place for a large influx of welfare recipients. It takes time to build apartment complexes. The ones in place cost $$$$. Maybe it will all work out.

So, you think it's okay the "evacuees" were blowing their "stipends" on DVDs and such at Wal-Mart?

Or, are you just being "bi-polar?"

I try not to make judgment calls on other people choices. It is legal. I would rather they show some restraint and wisdom in their choices. They looked like they just "found" some money and were going on a shopping spree. I cannot put myself in their place. Maybe they are really wealthy people in disguise. Maybe they were really traumatized by what happened to them and this helps. I don't know what their future game plan is, but somebody needs to communicate to them that this can't keep up. People here have been very giving and hospitable. I am not sure anyone would want to leave comparing what they had and what they are receiving.

"Black racists are every bit as vile as white ones."

What the hell you're talking about? Blacks are never racist, they just sound that way.

There's a difference between begin judgemental and knowing the difference between right and wrong.

Common sense. I guess it's not in everyone's genes.

How the hell did he spend $700 so fast?

That's the problem.
Debit cards are effective for "on-going" welfare admin where recipients are properly vetted.

Current situation requires fast response, but can't vet applicants...

Ergo, a fast response system is needed that can have charge backs for fraud later...ie no debit cards after reasoned thought

& scammer boy lost out on a windfall

What have they done "wrong"? Did they break any laws? No. Did they break one of Gods commandments? I didn't witness any thefts personally. What is this wrong you speak of? Who was wronged? If I give you $2000.00 with no stipulations, you may invest it, spend it or throw it up in the air and watch it blow in the wind. I wouldn't like it, but it was your money to do with as you please.

The Civil Rights movement did a lot of good and when it reached a certain level, everyone should have felt good about it. However, it didn't stop at the right place in time and the race mongers took over and split us all over again. Part of the blame belongs on welfare as that also should have stopped for the recipient at a required time - it did not and as a result we have many citizens who are just plain crippled by handouts intended to help them.

Black politicians, notable Reverends, The Black Caucus and the once highly integrated NAACP have made Martin Luther’s dream a nightmare. We paid welfare mothers for babies so young black women on welfare kept on having babies who in turn had miserable lives and were poorly educated. New Orleans has had generations of that. The entitlement mentality is up and running now in Louisiana, pushed even further by reckless remarks from Jessie Jackson and others, which is really for self gain because that is how a racist makes his/her money…on the backs of the oppressed. Why blame President Bush for what is primarily the Democratic Party’s obsession, cradle to grave government handouts. It is a frightening culture and it has come home to roost.

Asian children and Mexican children expect to work, expect to learn, and expect to be responsible. Many Negro children in other parts of the country are well schooled, are getting ahead in life – they and their families are beyond the benevolent reach of the Jessie Jackson, Maxine Waters, Al Sharpton etc. Only in New Orleans could a Mayor so blatantly negligent in his duty, get praise for job badly done…there it is expected of the American Negro and that is a dirty rotten shame.

He didn't have a Louisiana accent, either.

Neither do I. Lived in Kenner from 77-86, then in downtown New Orleans. Only word I utter that comes close to a southern accent is when I say "Y'all". I dont know how the stereotype started about people from New Awlins NEEDING a cajun accent in order to authenticate their own Southern lives. Kind of like requiring Texans to all speak like Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard.
