FEMA and Red Cross a Fraud...Give me $20,000

A "refugee" uh, American, at Houston Astrodome just complained that Red Cross and FEMA were GD frauds because he couldn't activate his 2k debit card. Asked what he wanted to happen, he said he should be given 20,000 to get his life going. Used a few "F" words to make his point on national TV..

It got worse. This whiny little punk (African-American) claimed that being sent to the Astrodome on a bus was "like slavery...like back in time, they put us on slave ships...this is like slavery...they broke up our families..."
The FOX anchor broke in saying "whoa, whoa, whoa! that's enough. We have an obligation as to what we're broadcasting". The FOX guy knew how silly the guys commetns were. The FOX reporter on the ground, Alicia something, was obviosuly out of her depth and intimidated by the thug.

I'm wondering what he bought with the money. I can tell you this. They were at my Wal-Mart in force last night. Buying electronics,tvs, cds etc . . . I am thinking that $2000.00 is supposed to get them on their feet. The salvation Army said no more clothes donations. The evacuees don't want used. They want new clothes. Okay. They want mass transit. Our area doesn't have it, but they got out of the area busses to bus them around. They need budgeting skills and job counselors and someone to help them to adjust to what we have. Everyone that has talked to them said they were NOT going back to NO. Fine, but they need help adjusting.

As far as I'm concerned, give him exactly what he DESERVES. Perhaps they should just give the refugees twice what they've paid into Social Security, not counting any that was deducted from entitlement checks. (if it even is, which I don't know)

After all, twice of nothing is nothing - could be a good deal for the taxpayers.

I'll be listening to your show. I heard the guy on FOX and it was appalling. He said that it was a recreation of slave ships because they were separated from their families. Unfortunately in emergencies sometimes this happens.

I'm sure getting them on their feet is what the idea was, but you're right...some of these folks don't have a clue on how to manage the money. It will be blown on junk & then they'll have their hands out for more...more...more. So sad.
