I ate, I slept, I FReeped!!!! Oh, and went to the doctor a bunch of times.
Let me at least vicariously enjoy the summer through the stories of what you all did :)
Coffee's on!!!!!!!!
I started a business. :) I'm too poor to even pay attention these days, let alone afford a vacation, LOL!
In June, we spent a week in Branson at the first-ever family reunion for my dad's side of the family. It was terrific! My SIL got us discounted tix to Dixie Stampede, and passes to Silver Dollar City. She offered passes to a couple of other attractions, but we ran out of time for those. We stayed at a resort that had a pool, that wasn't any more costly than a hotel room, and had a good time.
In August, I did a mission trip with a group from church to the Dominican Republic. Details and pics at http://grammasheila.blogspot.com/ for anyone who is interested.
I also went to the doc a few times, but the meds are back in balance, so not too bad. Glad your ankle is healed up! Watch out for falling sewing machines!
We rented a beach house at Virginia beach in June and rented a house at a ski resort a couple of hours away for a harescramble dirtbike race, and to celebrate our sons' birthdays with the whole family in August. My sister and BIL in Utah even came in. It was great, though now Evan thinks that we can go to the beach house and birthday house anytime he wants! LOL!
Nothing much..
I just got married :)
I took my Boy Scout troop on a 50 mile hike over the Knobstone Trail in Indiana.
I got engaged! ;O)
One month ago.
Wife, four children ages 2-16 and younger brother visited friends and kinfolks in Ocean Springs/Biloxi and Eastern Shore, Alabama for a couple of days
and then rented a house at Seagrove Florida for one week and then to Jacksonville to visit more kinfolks
In a rented mini-van.
Been a ritual for years now.
Also made two short trips to family getaway at Grandfather Mt North Carolina.
I live at the beach, in Key Largo, so I spent my summer vacation digging roots out from our septic tank and replacing our drain field by hand (while we were using it). Im told in this area, thats at least a $6k job if I had to pull permits and contract it all out.
It look 20 "summer vacation days", but I got in my best shape in 6 years. (I didnt smell in my best shape in 6 years though.)
We took the boys fishing for the first time, which was fun. We mostly did usual stuff: Fireworks on the 4th, hit a lot of the local parks, went for drives out in the country, played in the pool in the backyard. One night we stayed out past dark and caught fireflies; another night, we had a "sleepover" for the boys, let them stay up late watching movies and eating popcorn, then slept in sleeping bags on the floor. One Saturday afternoon we were incredibly bored so we hit the road for an uber-spontaneous trip to Niagara Falls. Not a spectacular summer, but a lot of fun was had by all.
I made 3 quilts.
