Shep Smith on Dave Letterman

Posted on 09/05/2005 9:48:09 PM PDT by ark_girl

Did anybody see Shep Smith on Dave Letterman?

Letterman had just gotten through ripping FEMA and Bush for their performance with New Orleans and Katrina. Letterman then had Smith go through all the horrors he's seen. Then Letterman tried to get Smith to assign blame. That's when Shep shined. He basically said there are people dying...yet to be rescued. There are dead bodies floating around. He basically said it's sick to be playing the blame game right now when people haven't been able to bury their dead yet.

I don't think it's at all what Letterman had in mind. He seemed kinda stunned. I'm hoping he thought about what Shep was saying and saw some wisdom in it.

Go Shep!!!! He said what needed to be said and maybe made some people think about what they're doing right now.

Good for Shep -- he saw the horror and he sees the total inappropriateness of pointing fingers right now!

Obviously Roger Ailes sat down and talked to Shep. Thank God, Shep finally listened.

Didn't see it, but good for Shep.

... And we are talking about Shepard Smith, Fox News anchor? I just want to be sure.

"Shep" and "wisdom" haven't been mentioned in the same sentence lately.

And welcome to FR.

Yeah. The same Shep who was screaming from the I-10 exit.

He was a little shrill from the field last week, but it's easy to see how you could get worked up seeing what he was seeing. I don't know that I could have stayed calm in the same situation when you're watching people die slowly. Remember, he was always careful to say he wasn't assigning blame, just reporting what he was seeing.

I changed channels during the first minute of Dave's monologue. I remember a time when he was funny and his show was cool and innovative. Now, he is just a lefty hack. I haven't watched the show in years because it ceased to be consistently entertaining.

I haven't watched Letterman in a verrrrry long time. I'm sick of "celebrities" (so called) and actors. Mostly all leftist parrots and stooges. They can all drop dead for all I care.

David Letterman drools like a love sick puppy whenever Hillary comes on his show. Too much time at Ball State warped his brain. Otherwise, he seems like a pretty nice guy.

Well, he got put in his place tonight....he may not have enough sense to know it, but he got put in his place.

But, that would mean we would have had to watch that smug selfcentered Letterman just to catch a glimps of Shep?

That's sick.

Hopefully, SecDef Rumsfeld has come to his senses and cancelled his appearance for tomorrow night.
Nothing positive can come from lowering himself to Letterman's level.

Smith showed his utter lack of professionalism with his many shrieking reports from New Orleans. The hysteria that he and other reporters, especially Geraldo Rivera, displayed during this disaster was nauseating. And in typical liberal media style, he was rewarded for it with a spot on Letterman.

FNC will be better after they rid themselves of Smith. He is in the same league as Breathless Rita Cosby.

By any chance did you get the name of the guy who is making the movie? I think his name was Terrance Williams? Anyway he had a great line that said.....People should stop trying to get everyone to help them and they should try to help themselves.......first flash of good insight heard from the msm......
