On the Radio Factor today, Bill O'Reilly didn't spare anyone - except maybe the NO mayor. He says Gov Blanco was unprepared, Bush was slow, and Chertoff was a disaster and must be canned.
How much faster does anyone think the FEDS could have gotten there? They're not f*cking Hercules for crying out loud. You don't send help in the middle of a damn hurricane. The truth of the matter is, is the State and Local officials let their people down. They knew NO couldn't withstand a Cat 4 or 5 hurricane. They should have evacuated the week before it hit.
More.
Guess we're all supposed to be grateful that this gasbag is "lookin' out for the folks". Oh, thank you, thank you, Massah Bill!
My understand is that it is OK to blast the idiots at the state and local level but (according to some) we are not to discuss any thing the feds may have done wrong as they default is to assume Feds=Perfect & State/Local=TOTALLY WRONG
Starting with BOR and chamberlainbuff.
Oh, that's right, BOR is getting fired by his dismal radio ratings.
Churchill(chamberlain)buff, well he just sinks himself further with every post he makes and claims as a "true conservative", yet is just a parrot for the MSM.
O'Reilly is so three days ago. Catch a clue you egotist. You can't protect Blanco and Nagin so give it up. Bush stays, Chertoff stays, and you sink further into irrelevance.
Maybe Bill is hoping Nagin will put in a good word for him with Oprah.
O'Reilly lost credibility a long time ago. If you watch him very long you'll see that he's all over the map, like someone without a solid, foundational grounding.
I'm really starting to like the idea of Congressional hearings.
And, they need to include state and local government officials from LA, MI and AL, as well as from federal agencies.
Folks want answers? Let's go get them.
So nice of you to weigh in since you are new by defending the local folks and wanting the feds blamed. Agenda at work? Not enough action over at DU?
"Grounding" on the reef.
O'Reilly has obviously been watching too much of MoveOn.MSNBC ,MoveOn.CBS, MoveOn.ABC, MoveOn.CNN etc.
He might try watching FOX News for a change ( I hear it'a available most everywhere )-their reporters have been excellent.
Shep and Geraldo had their cryfests ala the Mayor of NO, but, all is forgiven.
Orlando Salinas and Steve Harrigan have been great-just the facts, no spin.
I didn't defend the local folks I have posted several posts saying that they local/state governement was very badly run.
I just do not happen to agree with the idea that FEMA can do no wrong.
Fact of the matter is, someone, or several are going to be held responsible over this. Be it State, Feds or locals, heads are going to roll, and they should.
IF a Democrat is elected president, the freeper rule against criticizing FEMA will be repealed.
Everybody needs to chill, including O'reilly.
It's been reported that he disaster area is 60,000 square miles. That's the square mileage of the State of Georgia.
Unless the Hand of God swooped down to save these people in one fell swoop, for some people no speedy rescue is fast enough. Imagine the water up to your gutters and them imagine it's happened to 100,000 houses in the surrounding area for as far as the eye can see from 10 stories up.
This isn't called the greatest National disaster for nothing.
Listen to ground Commander Russel Honore and leave everybody alone and let them do there jobs. Katrina is to blame for dead and displaced people, that's it! Firing Chertoff or anybody else right now is pointless.
