Is Abortion and Illegal Migrationm Linked?

Accidents do not happen, because every physical event has a physical cause.

The birth of a galaxy or a human being, does not happen without cause. Whatever the phenomenon, nothing happens without some "retrospective coherent" event. The actual cause may be obscure or unrecognizable, but the principle of cause and effect is always operative. Still, lacking total knowledge, we will attempt to remedy our problems even when the quality of our information is imprecise and superficial.

Because we are constantly adding to our store of knowledge, the "retrospective coherent" events become less chaotic and unpredictable. Tsunamis, earthquakes and hurricanes occur only after some chain of events give it inevitability. Human migrations are no different. They could occur as instinct or as perceived necessity demands. Migrations are reactions to events that either appear related, or are unperceived because they are too chaotic and disconnected to qualify as reasonable.

Identifying problems based on what is documented, popularly held and too obvious to debate, does not mean the problem exists. Without objectivity, our efforts to remedy real problems will be the source of our worst nightmares. If we put our pet peeves aside, we may learn that what we consider a “problem” is in fact, the best solution to a deeper problem.

The reasons usually we attribute to the illegal migrations from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, and Honduras have been written to death. Based on those, the solutions that promise to end illegal migrations, are usually self righteous, patriotic or nationalistic, emotional and unforgiving platitudes. Still, those refugees from their nation's institutionalized corruption and misery, buttressed with America's generous and "free" welfare system, guarantee the inevitability and continuance of their illegal migrations.

Why the President chooses to un-enforce our immigration laws and his "de facto" "open border policy" is a question he has not answered. His inaction promotes disrespect for the Republic, the Constitution and the People. Bush's passivity suggests a "de facto" doctrine of "no punishment - no penalty."

Immigration laws without the certainty of punishment or penalty are no more than a recommendation. On the other hand individuals and business' that hire illegals, encourage law breaking by choosing to hire a captive and uncomplaining source of cheap labor. Such scofflaws profit because of reduced costs in minimalized employee benefits and facilities, and pocket the unearned profits from unpaid taxes. Lacking penalties and punishment, and the President's silence and inaction, that these and other felonies continue unabated.

Then there are the scofflaw judges and politicians who, for profit and power, collude with the criminals and the criminal industries that promote and provide the grist for illegal migrations. These observations are obvious. Nevertheless, we must address a more fundamental reason before we can resolve the problem of “Illegal Migration”.

I have linked the above to past events that, for most of us, are presently unconnected. To identify “Illegal Migration’s” root cause wee must incorporate a more objective dialog that we may discover the real reasons for this problem. So let us begin by connecting some dots.

“... Over the next thirty years, the growth rate of the working-age population in the United States is anticipated to slow, from about 1 percent per year today to about 1/2 percent per year by 2030*. At the same time, the percentage of the population that is over 65 will rise markedly--from less than 13 percent today to perhaps 20 percent by 2030. ...”

Remarks by Chairman Alan Greenspan - At a symposium sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Jackson Hole, Wyoming - August 27, 2004 “... Though the overall population is expected to continue to age, much of the aging of the labor force has already occurred with the aging of the baby-boom generation. Once the baby boomers begin to retire, the mean age of the U.S. labor force is expected to stabilize.

“These anticipated changes in the age structure of our population and work force result largely from the decline in fertility that occurred following the birth of the baby-boom generation. After peaking in 1957 at about 3-1/2 births over a woman's lifetime, the fertility rate in the United States fell to less than 2 by the early 1970s, and then rose to about 2.1 by 1990.1 Since then, the fertility rate has remained close to 2.1, the so-called replacement rate, or the level required to hold the population constant in the absence of immigration or changes in longevity. The decrease in the number of children per family since the baby boom has inevitably led, with a lag, to a projected increase in the ratio of elderly to working-age population.

“Increases in life expectancy, too, have been substantial. In 1950, a man 65 years of age could expect, on average, to live until age 78, whereas now he can expect to live until over 81. And if current trends continue, by 2025 he can expect to live to 83 and, by 2060, to 85. Women's life expectancy is projected to increase about the same amount, from 81 in 1950 to roughly 85 today, 86 in 2025 and 88 in 2060.

Certain facts and statistical comparisons suggest ROE V. WADE 410 U.S. 113 was Argued December 13, 1971-- Reargues October 11, 1972-- and decided January 22, 1973 is related to the problem of Illegal Migration. ==

“Roe v Wade is undoubtedly one of the Supreme Court's most controversial decisions. Handed down in January of 1973, the Court declared, by a vote of 7 to 2, that abortion was a right guaranteed by the Constitution under an implied right to privacy.” http://www.rightgrrl.com/carolyn/roe.html

"After 31 years and 40 million murdered babies under Roe v. Wade, it is essential that we continue to confront the court with their immoral and lawless decision that has no basis in the Constitution, history or traditions of our nation." U.S. Carrying Capacity Checkup Warning: U.S. in overshoot mode!

November, 2004

POPULATION / IMMIGRATION

1. The USA's population grows by 3.3 million annually, making it the fastest growing of all the industrialized nations in the world. - U.S. Census Bureau Data, May 2002

2. The U.S. population is now 294 million. If the present growth rate of 1.1% per year (about a 60 year doubling time) continues, the U.S. population will exceed 527 million by 2050 and one billion by 2100. - Population-Environment Balance, 2004 study

3. Of the total 527 million-person increase by 2050, 150 million will be immigrants or their children if current trends continue. - Population-Environment Balance, 2004 study

4. 86.7% of the United States population growth per year (and nearly 100% in California, Maryland, New Jersey, and Illinois) results from mass immigration and children born to immigrants. - Camarota, Steven A., Immigrants in the United States - 2002: A Snapshot of America's Foreign-Born Population, Center For Immigration Studies, Table 2, pg 3. November 2002

5. Well over one million legal immigrants a year (about 1.5 million in 2001) and over 500,000 illegal immigrants settle in the United States annually. - U.S. Census Bureau data

However, recent articles and estimates of the total illegal alien population in the United States indicate that the annual number arriving and intending to stay is much higher.
