In the past month, I have seen a shift in Free Republic that makes me wonder if there is a coup d'etat going on.
I haven't got a count, but it seems there has been more sex-related posts than in the past months since I started coming here.
There have been threads about the gay life style, sex slaves, sex toys, a guy killed after having sex with a horse, numerous porn threads, and more. It is making me sick.
I participated in many of the posts because I felt my input was valuable. However, every time I participate, I feel sickly dirty.
With that, I am taking a break from posting on these themes.
For the record, I believe that healthy sex is between a husband and wife. Anything outside of that is a perversion of God's gift of sex.
Now, for something that may be outside of most people's conservative attitude of sex; I beleive that when Paul wrote that the marriage bed is undefiled, God was giving His blessing on whatever a married couple mutually decides is sex for them, the only caveat being that it involves the two of them and no more.
It really has changed. The first month I was here, the most heated debate I participated in was about the infallibility of the Pope.
How things have changed.
Off year election cycle...They'll get lost when it starts to heat up after the new year...Use FR for the news...
FRee Republic is what YOU make it. It is different for everybody. If you ignore the sex-related threads, there is no problem, right?
Geez, there are even threads for MLB, NFL, and NASCAR.
If all you are noticing are threads about sex, then perhaps it's more a comment about you than about FR.

I'll wager $10 that we seee Ern on a sex-related thread before the pumpkins are ripe!
Oh, and if it weren't for DD and JRBC, I'd probably never see any of the "sex" threads in my ping list anyway...

BUT.... this line just cracked me up....

PS... I don't read certain threads because they are of no interest to me. You could give that a try.... Just an idea.
Sex sells, plain and simple, and the left leaning-media know it.
Everyone understands homosexual conduct is major dividing point between “Them and us.”
The media puts sex in everything. It is the basis for our species; everybody does it, wants to do it or is trying to do it.
The controversy surrounding who does what to whom keeps their wallets fat by selling papers and it keeps us on the attack to defend the position that 75% of American’s take: marriage and procreation should only be between a man and a woman.
When it is twisted slightly out of the mainstream or thrown in our faces and we conservatives react, the left points their pudgy little fingers at us and say we are bigots and worst, and suddenly you have a story that feeds itself.
It is posted here (and every where) only because we defend ourselves by discussion and comment.
Their tactics work to inflame the left, ours work to defend the right.
Money, politics and sex are all great subjects for debate and comment and I for one, enjoy the discussion.

In all seriousness, sex is, as Woody Allen once said, the funniest thing I've ever done without laughing. It should be no surprise to find threads on sex, just as we have threads on pop culture. We Freepers like to shoot the bull on a variety of subjects, not just politics.

If you did not like the sex talk, why did you participate in the thread? There are thousands of other threads to comment on every day!
