~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread~XXII
August 28, 2005 | bentfeather/The Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hello, bestest girlfriend!!

Nice to see you in the Lair.

But, but the Cardinal are monogamous birds, if their mate dies they remain alone until they die. At least that is my knowledge of that species.

"LOL, of course, you would have a beer loving cat!!! What a character, (the cat)!!"

A character(!), you have the gift of understatement when it comes to that cat! He's been known to mug dogs, eat hot chili, and seems to love the smell of cigars. In the next life I'm coming back as the cat of a liquor store owning, cigar smoking, drink crazed, sensualist blond cat lover!

Firelight Frolics

The mirror above the hall table reflects the firelight,
amid soft fire-orange glow dancing on wood paneling.
Deep dark wood loves such light, so warm, admiring,
setting the evening’s tone somehow so very, very right.

I light the candles in their stain glass lantern realms,
where they preside over the evening’s pace and passion.
and in that way, they set the mood on silken fashion,
as I let the hot oil slide in sensual flow across my palms.

Massage so slow and deep to relax you into a trance,
letting you drift as you begin the climb softly slow.
Touch builds on touch, the fire rising after so low,
and the evening begins to heat up in this loving dance.

Whispers echo in the firelight and soft our needs,
becoming glowing embers to raging blaze so quick.
We seem to know the next move; oh that’s the trick,
no second guessing perfection for such amorous deeds.

Fire on the silken plain levels all before its heat,
and passion rules us in a triumphant celebration.
Ecstasy is a drug filled with fireworks and elation,
powerful beyond belief, though its reign is fleet.

Soft, the night enfolds us as we sink into oblivion,
as wave after wave carries us into deeper dreams.
We grasp so little of what just passed it seems,
yet its there in our minds, no mere abluvion.

Moonlight slides over us in our tangled embrace,
glistening on our sweat shared, love warm skin.
We are lost to the world, and care not in our spin,
for we have won our shared and exhilarating race.

I like the firelight imagery, it's really a good poem.
