Times 2, my other brother, the Captain had a little girl as well last week, they are 5 days apart. So we know what he was doing during his two weeks of leave back in November.

Locally, Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach dodged the BRAC bullet, but the city and state is going to have to spend major dollars to alleviate "encroachment" upon the base. Seems that the Navy has been complaining since 1970 about developers building too close to the base and Virginia Beach has ignored them. Now people are complaining about jet noise and planes flying over their houses (90% of which were built since 1970). VaBeach has been crapping their pants since the potential BRAC list came out.

Also, the oldest fort in the US, Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA is closing. Fortifications at that site date back to the 1600's. The present fort dates back to 1819.
