The Hobbit Hole XXIV - Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
Please see our Hobbit Hole Troop Support project blog! ^

Posted on 08/24/2005 9:50:25 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I've driven in downtown SF. I don't recall it being that bad. At least not any worse than Seattle...especially considering the way I drive.

Try catching the airport shuttle down to one of the hotels.

Then again, if Kirk and Spock can figger out the buses...

Montrery is way cool. But if'n he ain't got a car, that's an even longer cab ride. Purty drive though.

Especially thru "Half Moon Bay"...

It's even cooler when you can spell "Monterey"

yah... I've been to Monterey. Pulled in there once for some sort of fleet week type deal along with a bunch of squidships.

It's a neat little town, what of it I remember. :-)

I will have a car. Mebbe I'll just drive into town. It'll be an adventure.

Currently available at Tarzhay and other "fine" stores.

I am sooo bad with names, that's why I need to get my plot together now so I can spend weeks finding names. Fortunately, the MCs all have names. I tend to end up with lots of "John Smith" type people, or not name them at all.

Evil henchman: Bob something. Anything's funnier if it's Bob.

How hard are they to grow?

Heh...I'm not having any problems. 'Course, maybe I should stop watering them.

Good, I can work in some aloe.

Darn, now I have a plot idea. It would involve either totally making stuff up or researching for ages until I found a real painting I can exploit... hmmm...

Hmmm....toasters and aloes go together. You apply the aloe juice after you get burned by the toaster.

Have a good flight Ramius.... hope your ear is cleared up.

Just got back from Bremerton... Took some pics of the carriers that are in at the Naval Shipyard. When you're driving in to town on the highway, it almost looks like you're going to get to drive under the bows of them.... Of course, that says more about their size than how close we actually are when we drive past.

The toaster is easy to fit in. Harder to fit in maleovolently, maybe.
