Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'd prophecy but the penalties for gettin' it wrong are too high. No penalties for misinterpreting tongues, as far as I know.

I wouldn't live in this town for all the money in the world.
Well... OK... maybe for *all* of it. But anything short of that and no deal. :-)
It's kinda funny really. They do pay people a definte premium to work in the SF office, 'cuz they have to. But people here that are even making what would be *really* good money elsewhere on the planet live like house-poor paupers.
But when *studio* apartments are $2500 to $3000/mo for really crappy parts of town... and where a $750K house is a "fixer-upper"...
All for the privilege of driving in the worlds' worst traffic.
Beats me. Honestly. It beats me.

Yeah...my brother just moved away from there. He was making good money, but even SHARING a dinky apartment with a couple of guys he knew through church was costing him something like $1500 a month.
My itty-bitty house...he said would have sold for ten times as much in SF. Ten times! That's hard to fathom. He said almost no one can afford to actually own land there.
But it's a pretty area. Too bad we couldn't just evacuate the entire population and start over economically too.

She posted that she was back, said things were a little rough at home, and that's the last we heard, I think.
So I'm fretting.

I didn't say anything earlier 'cause I thought Ruthy would be back on by now. She called me this morning (she didn't think Hair would be awake yet). She's still havin' some trouble with her DSL.
And something came up that made her late for work, if she made it at all.
She'll be back when she can.

'nite folks
We had call back auditions for the Christmas show tonight.
If I get the part I think I'm getting, I will never admit it on FR.
And that's all I'm sayin'.

I do get up early, and she can call whenever she likes, but I'm sure it was just as good to talk to you anyhow.
