Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...already applied at Circuit City and Best Buy. Don't think we have the others here.
No go.
I'm really wondering what the problem is. And being angry at the world isn't gonna help my hiring chances, but...

Your brother was opening that school in Gulfport, right. He made the local news here....just pictures with ditzoid newsguy audio.
To: RosieCotton
I wonder if that's better or worse than doing it in person, as far as hiring chances go.Better, I think... I saw two positions listed in your city. (If I remember your city properly...)

It's SirKit's brother, and did you see him, or was it just the newsdude standing in front of the school. When George called me this morning at 7:45 their time, the Bishop was pulling up so he had to hang up. That's when he told me that the piece was going to run at 8CST

Well, I at least submitted my resume. I did see those two positions, but it looked like they were higher up type jobs...management. I don't have any management experience. But at least they have my resume.
I'm just doubtful 'cause although that's the way a lot of more technical places seem to be taking applications (RadioShack, for example - from how he described it, they use the same interface as Circuit City and Best Buy), I didn't get any feedback on the applications I did that way. I know they probably just didn't need anyone, but...

It was the priest in front of the school talking to parents in front of a brick school building.

I'm the oldest of eight...of course I could.
But the list o' requirements was way beyond anything I've done. Planning and ordering and project management and supervision and such. They wouldn't hire me.

Hullo there...
Just put the 'puter back together.
The 200GB HD I bought when I thought my last 'puter was failing for that reason is now my K: drive. I'll wait for the obvious question.
I have a second CD-type drive; the machine came with a burn'n'read anything CD/DVD drive and nuttin' else of that variety, and I'm not going to use that for Civilization III, so I put in a CD-R/DVD player that's purty good.
I've put in a reasonable TV/FM tuner card, and hope soon to digitize some VHS that's been lying about (including The World's Great Operas in 10 Minutes-- at long last).
So good hunting on the job thingie.

DANG!! I missed that!! I just got e-mail from a couple who are now living in Vancouver WA who had been parishoners at St. James, and I had seen them asking about him on one of the message boards set up right after the hurricane. She was saying that she had seen him, too. I sure hope it will be replayed this evening.
What time did you see this on CNN?

Nope. Just left home. I'm in San Fran again, for the week. Of the next six weeks, I'm going to be in San Fran for four of them. I'm just not yet clear on which four they are. [sigh]
