Heh, hadn't planned on stopping till you cashed the first paycheck. :-)
That's certainly a worthwhile volunteer effort and it may open other doors, there and elsewhere.
He needs my "Help I'm Talking and I Can't Shut Up" t-shirt. ;o)
hhmmmm...something in that book about storing up treasures in heaven...;-)
That's terrific! It will be something that will help you fill your days and keep you from worrying. ;o)
You know, we try to teach the boys that "we don't say shut up."
But, I swear, sometimes that's the only thing that will shut him up. Wife glared at me the first time...'til she saw it actually worked.
He tells Jr. how to drive too...
True!
Yep...if for any reason the job I just interviewed for doesn't come through (I really, really hope it does!)...at least volunteering will give me some networking capabilities. Seems like often those work much better than any kind of job sites or such like.
I understand Rosie. I've been there more times than I can count, but God has ALWAYS been there just in time. It may be that He really is wanting you to just trust him more. Here's one of my stories.
Jr. was in elementary school. I think wife was working that evening, but it was days away from payday. The bank account was empty, and so was the gas tank in my truck.
I took Jr. to a scouting event at the school. And I seriously did not know how I'd get to work the next day. Our cards were maxed out.
At the scouting event, one of the other leaders came over to me and said "here I owe you this $5.00." [it was long enough ago that $5.00 would still put 3-4 gallons in the truck] It was the change for something I'd purchased from her health food store months before, and I'd seen her every week since.
God will provide for you Rosie. Maybe not in the way you'd most want. But He will provide.
I'm just really blessed the house sold for more than I thought it would. I wouldn't have been OK for so long without that little surprise.
I'd just hoped to keep some of it.
But...oh well. It's only money, I guess.
I'd tend to agree that if it is something you'd like to do... it's a way to keep current with things, and something that could even look good on your resume, if needed.
You do need to be able to *not* do it after you start this nifty new job, though... which of course would happen the moment you start volunteering... :-)
Since it's data entry...sounds like it's something that can just be worked on in chunks. And the guy that thought of asking me is aware that I'm in job search mode. Should be fine, I think.
I'll know more Wednesday, hopefully!
*snicker*. When Joseph was in the 2nd grade, he told someone at school to shut up. One of the little girls in his class told his teacher he said the "'S' Swear " He got sent to the principal who found it difficult to believe he said the bad word, until she asked him and and he said he did say it. She asked him exactly what he'd said, and he said he told a little boy to "Shut Up". Apparently, according to the kids, that was the " 'S' Swear".
So Natch, when I came out of the store, I had no idea.
I usually go to a row in front of a door, and then drive along the row away from the door until I get a space, so that when I come out, I know which row I'm in. Needless to say, didn't do that tonight.
I walked up and down three rows looking (feeling, anyway) like a complete fool, and finally said, "Lord, as you will guide me in finding a home in the next three months, guide me to my car now."
Started walking directly away from where my widdle bwain told me I should go, and just as I was about to give up and turn back, there it was.
I think the lesson for me is, He will guide me to an acceptable home in a direction I did not choose.
Interesting to watch Him work. And to think some put it down to blind luck or random chance. Stuff like this doesn't happen ordinarily.
*Yes, you can get a kitchen sink there, and at 2:00 in the morning to boot.
heh...Jr. came home from 1st grade and told us he knew the "f-word"
"fart"
'nite folks
[snork] A dwarfling.
Heh... I've never tried that. And the parking garage at the airport is enormous... :-)
Was he cute, heh, I debriefed her and I didn't even think to ask.
Whew! More kickboxing. I'm better than I was the first time, at least. Someone should shoot little ditzy chicks who show up looking like they're going out to dinner afterwards.
Heh...I do believe God uses small things to teach us big lessons. Makes sense.
