Super Secret Guilty Pleasure Foods (vanity)

Most of us take pride in the fact that we have some knowledge of proper nutrition and diet. Many of us run, bike, or do other vigorous exercise to maintain or college figures.

But there are some foods, often discovered in our youth, that no matter how nutritionally worthless they may be, are just too darn tasty to give up.

We may not tell our friends and loved ones, and we'll hide them under the other groceries in the supermarket, but somehow these guilty pleasure find a way into our gullets!

So without further adieu...

Top 5 Guilty Pleasure Foods

5. Velveeta Cheese. Who knows if there is any dairy product in this stuff. But darn it tastes good smothering nachos or melted on a toasted cheese sandwich!

4. Chicken in a Biscuit. The perfect cracker to compliment Velveeta. It's good to know that MSG and powder made from dry chickens can be so addicting!

3. Vienna Sausages. Though these little gems are not likely to show up as an appetizer at a fancy party, give me that yummy taste of Mechanically Separated Chicken and pork over cavier anytime!!

2. Sardines. Something about little stinky fish in a can turns off alot of people. But the fond memories of camping trips eating these oily creatures on a saltine cracker....

1. Hot and Spicy Pork Rinds. I know these delicious fried chunks of pig fat made a comeback during the Atkins craze. But some of us never abandoned these carnivorous treats! PETA be damned!

I STILL love Hostess Cupcakes, my favorite ever!

These must be placed in the freezer. Same with Ring Dings.

Funny you should mention Peeps...in my office we have some "experimental" purple Peeps from Easter. They're dry from lack of moisture, but still look like the day they were made. :)

Just tell them that humans are OMNIVORES! We are DESIGNED to eat both plant and animal substances.

I have a friend who was a vegetarian for many years. She had all kinds of stomach issues during that time. When she got pregnant, she started eating meat. She's healthy as a horse now.

Which did you like better? For me, the subtitled version was much more compelling. The emotion in the German voice was lost in the dub. IMHO

This is strictly a New Jersey food....Taylor Ham. Some regions of Jersey refer to it as "pork roll". It's delicious and can be consumed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

LOL! I know what you mean. I ate so much mac and cheese one day as a kid and hurled it up like there was no tomorrow. Couldn't touch the stuff for the next 10 years until I got to college, and mac and cheese is a cheap staple. Learned to love it all over again.

In college - we were addicted to Pot Pies... Chicken and Turkey would go on sale for 19cents with the coupon!

I lived on those - during the leanest years.

Damn... being poor... stinks...
