The updated list of ping lists

Posted on 08/11/2005 5:31:29 PM PDT by Asphalt

I was digging around in the archives and came upon the original thread. Many of the lists were no longer in use, and many new ones were not on. Farmfriend, the FReeper who first started this, is now banned. I felt that an updated version was long overdue. Most of the info I got was from digging through 8-month-old threads, so the purpose of this is mainly to get straightened(sp?) out. If you know for certain that a ping list is missing, or that one on the list is no longer in use, than please tell me. If you know someone else that was doing the work for this (I'm pretty sure no one is) then please tell me that also.

Wassup widat? I think someone's pants fell down and displayed their reason for inadequency. I've never found you to be an agent of Democrat Party Think, more Our Guy in LALA Land.

I hope you see why I'm rather suspicious of this site's agenda nowdays. Why attack the defenders of Conservatism? (watch me get banned again for saying so)

I'm not really running the Laura Ingraham PING list anymore. I just don't have time to even listen to her show. Plus, she doesn't write columns anymore.

If anyone would like to take it over, FReepmail me.

Freepatriot32 has been banned as well though I don't think it was for using farmfriend's list.

The Illegal Immigration Ping List is maintained by Hijinx and Gubamyster. I helped out while I was shelved by paralysis last year but my recovery dictates work over what I'd like to do.

This list was over 600 at last count and is looked at by double that on a regular basis. We know that many professional political writers scan our posts for source material and background on this issue. We also take the most unfair abuse and accusations of racism, bigotry and close-mindedness when most of us are actually trying to get our fellow citizens to shirk off the bindings of "political correctness" and see to preserving the country their forbears left them.

We don't tolerate racism nor mindless jingoism. The overall wish of our listees is for our representatives to represent us in a way that will preserve our country and it's way of life during this time when too many illegal aliens are moving in and arrogantly demanding we learn their language and adjust our rules to suit them. Unfortunately there's a huge contingent of citizens pushing that idea. Surely it's just a coincidence that those citizens also back the notorious enemies of democracy (ACLU, La Raza, etc.)

We see our foes working unceasingly to bring our county down, primarily through the disease of financial corruption. What they hope to achieve by killing the best system to ever grace this Earth is beyond my comprehension.

I have a ping list for Civil Engineers if anyone is interested. You don't have to be a CE and no 8-hour test is required!

The evolution list has slightly over 320 names. It seems to grow about 10 per month, more or less, and all applicants are actually screened to check out their posting history. The lists includes many physicists, chemistry professors, mathematicians, archaeologists, geologists, astronomers (well, one of those), engineers, and of course biologists of every variety. And we've got loads of non-science types too, but they're all science-literate.

I need a couple volunteers to help with a "Kudos" pinglist. The Kudos pinglist is for "After-action Reports" of FReeps and for FReeper mentions in local news around the country.

I have learned that pinglists function best when there are three "keepers". Occasionally, there is an accidental "double ping", but it reduces the chance of anything important being skipped.

Dunno, but I'm starting to think that posting the "ping list" thread is cursed ;)

Yeah, thanks, and not long after he started this thread. Someone pointed that out in FReepmail after I posted here, so I checked Asphalt's posting history, and found that he'd posted 250 (I've got my settings at 250 messages) in THREE DAYS just as he was banned. So maybe he posted way too much? I didn't read more than a few of his messages, and didn't see any signs of struggle. ;')

Thanks. That's a big list. The largest I saw mentioned in the "Ping List Envy" topic was the Florida list, which is huge.

KevinDavis runs the Space ping list (or rather, one of them) and he seems to split his pings sometimes. Or maybe I've misinterpreted that.

That's also a big list. GGG is a little larger, but we're not all that discriminating Checking posting history might not be a bad idea, if I ever start a new list.

That's pretty funny considering Florida's peninsular dangling from America's South-East. Envy indeed.

The master of that list stated that his list is of conscripts, iow, he pings people based on where they're from, and apparently he removes 'em if they ask to be removed.
