These stunning cities of the past stand as clues to a mystery thousands of years old. While Europe was in the dark ages, it was the Maya who harnessed the knowledge of the stars, and the celestial movements, to create a mystical union of man, nature and the gods. It was a world of great kings, elaborate ceremonies, fierce battles, and even human sacrifice.
18 Survivors will be marooned within this mysterious and rugged terrain.
For the first time, the castaways will actually live within the ruins of a vanished civilization, and they will be forced to embrace the ancient Maya lifestyle.

Good Morning FReepers and FReeperettes! Its Thursday so that means its time once again for your:
The color of each players name indicates their original tribe affiliation. And since yellow on white doesn't show up too well, I've substituted brown for yellow.
The (New) Yaxha Tribe: (blue buffs)
Amy, Blake, Bobby Jon, Brandon, Brian, Danni, Gary
The (New) Nakum Tribe: (yellow buffs)
Cindy, Jamie, Judd, Lydia, Margaret, Rafe, Stephenie
The Losers:
Jim, Morgan, Brianna, Brooke
Lets get to it shall we.
Tonights episode is titled "Crocs, Cowboys and City Slickers"
Crocs is pretty much self explanatory. However, it should be noted that a spoiler indicates that the reward for tonights challenge is a croc-free swimming pool to cool off in. Cowboys and City Slickers, I believe refers to the ongoing battle of wits between Gary (the ex-Dallas Cowboys quarterback) and Danni (The City Slicker / beauty pageant runner-up / sports caster). Then again, Amy has confessed that she is a City Slicker (her own words) compared to all the rest of the red-necks on this show. Of course, it could also describe Brian and Rafe, both Ivy League Students.
From the official SeeBS website:
When pounding rain takes its toll on a tribe, one member voices frustrations by calling out some of the others. The promos show Lydia having some sort of conniption fit ending with her telling someone to Shut Up!
An incredible Reward is won after one castaway blazes through the Challenge. As stated above, this Reward is a croc-free swimming pool.
One self-absorbed Survivor annoys the tribe with endless stories of a glamorous life beyond Survivor. Could this describe anyone other than Stephenie? Can anyone see Bobby Jon prattling on and on about a glamorous life after Survivor?
On to the challenges. The promos show us:
The Reward Challenge involves a down hill Sled-Race of some sort. We first see the tribes running at the start of the challenge. (Perhaps running up the hill?) This is followed with shots of Bobby Jon chopping through a log with a machete. (Perhaps to release the four wheeled sled.) Then we see the New Yaxha tribe seated on the sled as it rolls down the hill, with a final shot of Bobby Jon and Brian in the front of the sled as it crosses the finish line, winning the swimming pool for Yaxha.
The Immunity Challenge involves a Catapult and Catch type challenge. One player on each team launches a ball into the air via a catapult (the web promos show Brian as the launcher for Yaxha) while the remaining six tribe-mates are divided into two teams of three each with each team member is holding one end of a triangular shaped catching net. The object is pretty clear. The first tribe to catch a given number of balls launched into the air wins Immunity.
Now, the question is: Which tribe wins Immunity and which player gets the boot? Since the promos do not give us a clue as to which tribe wins Immunity we have to resort to deductive reasoning.
This is a picture of next weeks TV Guide showing the Reward Challenge and indicating that there will be Two Tribal Councils. In this picture we clearly see Amy, Danni, Stephenie and Cindy so its a given that none of these four will get the boot tonight.
For those of you who cant find your magnifying glass, here is what the article says: Another Survivor episode, another great twist. This week both teams go to tribal council and send someone home. But first, theres a rough-and-tumble reward challenge called boulder smash (below). The losing tribe has to vote out a member. Then again, so must the winning tribe. Hey, nobody ever said life on Survivor would be fair!
Now if New-Yaxha wins Immunity and sends new-Nakum to Tribal council, its a pretty safe bet that Jamie, Lydia, Rafe and Stephenie would continue with their boot order of last week and vote out Margaret. Adding more weight to this scenario, is the belief by a lot of the spoiler websites that old-Yaxha goes into the merge with a clear numerical advantage.
Now, lets look at what happens if new-Nakum were to win Immunity and send new-Yaxha to Tribal council. Since old-Yaxha (Amy, Gary and Brian) are outnumbered 3 to 4, and since Amy is the weakest player of the three, then she would be the logical boot. However, the picture above clearly shows us that she survives tonight to go on and play in next weeks game. I see only two other, possibilities of new-Yaxha going to Tribal Council and NOT booting Amy. These would be for either one of the old-Nakums to betray his alliance and cross over to the Amy, Gary and Brian alliance. Or, someone on the old-Nakum to become so sick or injured (worse than Amys sprained ankle) that that person would receive a mercy boot. Now, (sorry to keep bringing this up codercpc, but) of the four remaining old-Nakums, I see Blake having a relapse of the dry-heaves or Danni crossing over and joining Amy, Brian and Gary and again booting Blake.
Now the question is which scenario wins out? Again, I will have to flip the physic quarter. Heads new-Nakum goes to tribal council and Margaret gets the boot, tails new-Yaxha goes to tribal council and Blake gets the boot.
< flip> Tails it is. (sorry codercpc)
Well, there you have it:
Reward Challenge Winner: new-Yaxha
Immunity Challenge Winner: new-Nakum
Tribal Council Bootee: Blake (again!)
Well, there you have it. But remember, my bootee record so far is 2 & 2 so take it for what its worth.
Take care,
FReepmail me if you want added to, or removed from the one, the only, Official Survivor Ping List.
Savage was one of my all time favorite Survivors. I hated the season he was on though. That was when they brought back all the losers and they booted Savage. I stopped watching for a while after that.
Thanks for the ping and the episode summary. I hope you and the Mrs. had a good time last week. :)
Savage had been my favorite also. He appeared to be a truly nice person and was easy to look at. Being the host of Survivor must be difficult on the family life. Jeff started Survivor out as a married man and ended up divorced. According to Savage's bio he has a wife and two little girls. As much as I'd like to see him replace Jeff (if Jeff leaves), I think a single guy would be better suited to the job.
Yeah the traveling the host would have to do would be difficult. Savage also was a very strong player. He even outlasted Reuben(?) in one of the strength challenges. He was smart and could read people. I cannot remember the name of the guy who was booted in the episode before but when he came back with the really homely looking female they ganged up on Savage right off. That was probably one of the worst twists in the game. Because the ones that had been voted off really deserved it. If they had not brought those players back IMO Savage would have won or been in the final 4.

I'm still waiting for SURVIVOR BAGHDAD.
But since I don't think my luck can hold out, and I don't believe that you could be wrong 3 weeks in a row, I am going to agree with you!
But I still hope we are both wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He traded in for the younger model.

I'm not a mind reader but I believe the others meant Rupert when they said Ruben. I can't picture him as a replacement for Jeff nor the other two. I think Colby would be the best choice, Ethan seems too laid back. One person I'm pretty sure it won't be is that wiseass Jon (the wrestler guy).
If you are talking about his current relationship with Julie then you're wrong. He divorced long before he ever met her. If you are talking about someone else then anything is possible. I know nothing about who he's dated in-between the wife and Julie. I haven't spoken to Jeff in ... well, never! ;-)
I did mean Rupert, thanks!
If they reshuffle the tribes again BEFORE the merge...what would you call them, and how would you use colors to show where they came from?
A blivit! Me dear old Ma's definition of a blivit is:
When you try to stuff 10 pounds of excrement into a 5 pound sack, the result is a blivit!
and how would you use colors to show where they came from? I would then paint them ALL brown!
Can't believe what I'm seeing on this thread. Jeff Probst leaving? Haven't heard about it.
Regardless, he got successful, dumped the old wife and got a new model. It's not exactly honorable.
