Any new news? I just got on and funny, I should see traffic news about a place I know not far from me!

When did this actually start? Cuz your post started at 10:20, then you say an hour later that (1 part) was re-opened at 10....I'm a little confused.....

"It's probably little Dick Durbin trying to get some attention!"

I think it's probably GWBush trying to get Frist to retract his stem cell support.

Maybe it was Gael Murphy from Code Pink?

We really kicked their arses at Walter Reed tonight. I mean, it was not pretty on their side.

It sucked being Code Pink tonight.

Is there a thread for the Code Pink protest stuff?

It's Helen Thomas. Cheney changed his mind.

Not yet. I just got home a little while ago, and just did a quick preview of video and photos I shot from our double-header tonight.

Gael Murphy was called a murderer - very loudly and repeatedly; and for two-plus hours the cars stopped at the light were treated to an education about Code Pink.

Code Pink protesters got very few honks of support - and they got majorly cussed out by one of America's finest soldiers who is presently recuperating at WRAMC.

Code Pink's blood-dance tonight turned into a public relations bloodbath for them.

BillF will be posting an after-action report after the weekend. If you havent seen reports from our previous Code Pink Freeps, you can do a keyword search for "codepinkdc" to read them.

My wife is out there with my daughter, so I was particularly perturbed. She forgot the cell phone, so I couldn't call her to talk her around it.

She was heading up to baltimore. It will be interesting to hear her story. She hasn't called yet, but if she got where she was going after 12 she might not call. And of course now I'm on the internet and she couldn't call anyway (unless she remembers the cell phone number).

It looks like the overpass is about 20 feet high. I don't know why the don't just drive a bunch of trucks with mattresses underneath and push him off.

I also had a fantasy of being there, jumping out of my car, running toward the guy from below, waving a gun at him, and shouting "get the bleep off the bridge, or I'm going to shoot you, and when you fall down here I'm going to cut you slowly and painfully until you don't recognise yourself."

Sounds like something one of the really macho cop-guys would do before they got suspended, like Riggs or Cobra.

Anyway, I think we are very tolerant of people who are trying to kill themselves. Now, if he yelled that Islam was a terrorist organization, WMAL would insist he be suspended from the bridge :->

Seriously, you're worse off then the jumper.

OK... if he wants to jump he should do it quickly, after you get on the railing its a little late to give it deep thought. /sarcasm

I always click the I have already previewed button.

And I actually thought I was being nicer than the people who just yell out "jump".

My favorite scene from Lethal Weapon was when Riggs handcuffed himself to the jumper, then looked at him and brow-beat him about being too scared to jump, and then pulled him off the building.

And somehow in that case they had a big balloon blown up for him to fall into. If life were like the movies, we could have put one of those big balloons under the bridge and been done with it.

Oh, if anybody took my posts in this thread seriously, I seriously apologize for the imagery I have put in your heads, and the evil thoughts I have provoked. I was a bad, bad boy. This is why my wife rarely leaves me alone.....

I don't see how you can have any sympathy for this person. This person created a situation that provided major headaches for thousands of commuters and travelers, because with him/her, it's all about ME, ME, ME! The only way I could excuse this person's actions is if he is schizophrenic and a voice told him to jump from that particular bridge. Perhaps 24 hours in lockup will put things into perspective for him.

I can have sympathy for this person, because I too have been in a position where I wanted to end it all.

24 hours in lockup? How about 72 hour psyche evaluation. Wanting to kill yourself is not a choice that a rational person would make. Think of all the things that would have to go wrong in your life in order for you to want to make that choice. Pretty crappy, eh? And now you've got people urging you to jump.

I bet you don't even understand what schizophrenia is, but you toss it out like it's an understandable excuse. More than likely the guy is suffering from severe depression, or maybe even a manic depression. Clue yourself into what you're talking about.

By 2010, the World Health Organization predicts that more time will be lost from work because of depression and depression-related maladies than will be lost by colds or flus. This type of stuff is going to be more common place than we realize.

Hopefully you'll never go through it. Most likely a loved one of yours will at some point in their life. I hope you have more sympathy and compassion then.

We're boycotting WMAL since they suspended Michael Graham indefinitely.

When did this appeasement of islamoterrorism happen?
