Howdy everyone, sorry so late with the coffe this morning. Pain meds are still knocking me for a loop!
You have no idea how many times I got birthday or Christmas presents like that. "Why did I get this?" But I will always end up using them a lot. i.e., My brother-in-law gave me a Martha Stewart blanket one year. My thought was, "ugh!" It's probably one of the most used and most loved blankets I have.
What they all have in common is that each one does exactly what it is supposed to do without inflicting any unintended consequences on us.
Here's a few things I wish I had not bought: Dodge Aries, HP computer, microwaveable egg poacher.
Baby, swing, rice cooker...my 3 year-old is driving me nuts today, I think he's cutting a tooth or something. I'll be back later, folks!
Bump for later, Gabz. Gotta tend to Dad this afternoon. How's the ankle, Klutzy? ;)
THE MAGIC BULLET!
Oh. My. God.
I got one of these for my wedding shower. You've seen them on tv, they're also known as the "Turbo Chopper" (i believe).
They're just great. They come with a base, two chopper bottoms to attach to cups.
I use them to make cheesecake. I can turn one out in about 5 minutes (not including baking time). Also great to chop the graham crackers for crust.
Use heavy cream and a bit of instant coffee powder..Instant Coffee Mousse!
It really does do all it says it does.
ALSO:::
Sobakowa Buckwheat Hull Pillows.
They support your head perfectly and stay cool. I always pack them when I stay in hotels, because you just never get good pillows in hotels.
Good afternoon everyone!
Gabz, I'm sorry to hear about your suffering, worse than childbirth that's pretty bad, yikes! I hope you feel better soon!
My favorite "worth every penny" is the bucket swing we bought for $80 when our second child was a baby. We had purchased a good quality redwood swingset--also WEP--it came with a trapeze thing, and two industrial strength playgroup type swings. We had to pay extra to get the baby bucket but countless hours of happy babies over the ten years since make it just about the best money we *ever* spent.
Others: agree with replacement windows, kitchenaid stand mixer, rice cooker and electric griddle. Also Yamaha piano, Birkenstock sandals and clogs, all-clad pots and pans.
